I like the promo... I just hope it's being accompanied by an actual set printing of the card. - Some people don't care about the shiny-promos... they just want access to the card.
That being said, they just finished a set that used 'scry'. - I doubt it will be back this soon, so probably promo only.
So... "Everything is fine" = "You better do well at FNM in August, or too bad for you!"

Art kind of reminds me of Thirst for Knowledge promo. I like it. Too bad I can't really go to FNM in August.........

So... my FNM has been giving promos to the winner of the final round (or final round before top 4 or 8), plus the top 2. - They do this to reduce the number of people drawing-in, or dropping. (They can't tell people they aren't allowed to draw/drop... but they can distribute prizes however they want)
This means that I can throw the first 3-4 rounds, and give myself a great chance at getting this each week... $30+ card each week for the month... I'll take it!
Too bad August 1st falls on a Saturday this year... only 4 FNM's instead of 5.

I would prefer to get this then a pack foil for my cube (assuming this is cheaper than the $30 pack foil/arena promo)

smackjack - Depends on teh store. The one I frequent hands them out to Top 8/Top half if we have <16. Another store in my area "loses" the promo and sells them from his other online store. One is the preferred method, the other is shady and wrong.

The judge at my store is nice and gives out things he wins at events and stuff (playmats mostly), but you know, Serum Visions....

My lgs does top 2 plus 2 randoms. So yeah...good cheese is lucky...

.... my lgs does top 3 and last place for FNM promo's. Never cared before this, but now people are going to be rewarded with an awesome card for playing bad jank decks. And some people will intentionally lose. Yuck.

My lgs does 20 for X-0 15 for X-0-1 and 7.50 for X-1 (store credit) in addition to promos for all, and it is modern, so it is an awesome place.

I live in southeastern Mass and the shop I go to gives out FNM promos depending on how many people are there. Sometimes everyone who takes part gets one and sometimes its only the top few players. Really hope I can get my hands on some of these!
