When you crack a booster and pull a foil rare... usually a good thing, but then you realize it's the same foil rare that is included in a bajillion starter decks.

Honestly that usually bothers me more than just pulling the normal rare version of a foil from a starter deck.
lol, I cracked a pack and pulled a Avalanche Tusker followed by.....Avalanche Tusker F! Lol. I laughed at that one

Sounds like you shouldnt be cracking packs. the most annoying thing i can think of is to repeat open the same bad rare with no usable commons/ucommons 5 packs in a row or more.
Nothing off the top of my head in khans, but something like Curse of the Swine in journey.

I had a buddy swear off ever buying booster packs again 4 times or so (he didn't ever actually hold true to that declaration) just because he opened something like 9 Labyrinth Champion Two of which were foils.
He'd be like "I'll never buy a booster again. Then I'd pull a Thoughtseize and he'd be like Wow I forgot how much fun opening boosters is. Then he'd go out and get a few good things and then open two more Labyrinth Champion 's and groan.

At least wizards made it a little better since the Intro pack foils are now alternate art... still sucks but at least a little less :)

lately my foil rare has been good, but in boxes if there is a crap foil rare, there has always been(so far) good foil rare to follow.
las box first foil rare is Grim Haruspex then next pack a foil Butcher of the Horde
box i just opened maybe an hour ago i got a foil Kheru Spellsnatcher end of the box a foil Surrak Dragonclaw

I have never gotten good foil. The best things I've gotten out of packs were non-foil shock lands from RTR.
That foil Marsh Flats ? Yeah, not even my pull. My mother's boyfriend was gonna toss all of his magic cards away, so I stole them before I moved.
