Upcoming Pioneer Tournament Help

Pioneer forum

In a few weeks I will be entering a small Pioneer tournament. I don't know what the metagame is where they are holding it, as I haven't played Pioneer there, so I'm not sure how to build a sideboard. I will be playing Izzet Prowess/Izzet Pyromancer, so I would appreciate all help!

magwaaf How could I forget about that? Here it is.

Izzet Tempo - Tournament Ready

I will take one Island out for the Steam Vents. I will also add 4x Young Pyromancer, 4x Monastery Swiftspear and 4x Lightning Strike by taking out 4x Riddleform, 4x Roil Eruption, 2x Spikefield Hazard  Flip and 2x Anticipate. Also, I will take one Roiling Vortex out of the sideboard, and put one Ral, Izzet Viceroy in the sideboard.

magwaaf That’s because my pioneer deck is a modified version of my standard deck. It’s called being on a tight budget. (Almost as tight as jeans, so in other words very tight)

You can copy that deck list, then update the copy to reflect which cards are different (it's too confusing for us to keep in mind all the changes you listed above).

You can also then change the Hub to Pioneer, rather than Standard.

We want to help you, but make it as easy as possible for us.

Ive been playing a lot of MTGO lately plus a fair bit at 2 LGS and based on what ive been seeing at all three of these you need to build a deck that is A) good against Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath (if thats possible with how op he is), B) good against Teferi, Time Raveler and C) not be weak to a T1 Thoughtseize. Others can probably give better advice on how to change your deck to acomplish this as i dont play Izzet.
