Nivmagus Elemental + Flusterstorm = Turn 2 win?

It's not a combo for a deck, more of a theoretical scenario. I'm just wondering if I got the rule mechanics right.

T1: Island, Nivmagus Elemental

T2: Second Island, Attack

If the opponent casts a Lightning Bolt and I respond like this:

Float 2x U, Daze, Daze, Flusterstorm, Flusterstorm

If all spells resolve, will I have enough Instants on the stack to pump Nivmagus to 21/22?

Stack:

Lightning Bolt

Daze

Daze (Start sac'ing here)

Flusterstorm (Sac this)

Three Storm copies (Sac these)

Flusterstorm (Sac this)

Four Storm copies (Sac these)

Yes, that works.

Although if you played second, it might not work since they possibly have mana open.

What you would actually want to do is let the first storm copy resolve and exile the others. Why? So that your opponent, seeing all the copies of Flusterstorm will not pay mana for the first one unless they have 11 mana open.

I actually have a modern deck based around Nivmagus Elemental if you wanna check it out: Elemental Of Surprise.

Cool. Thanks for the advice. Great deck concept BTW.

Now to figure out how to fit this in my Hidden Strings + Stasis deck.

OT: Blistercoil Weird seems like a good idea too.

Thanks man.

And yeah, I'm still considering it for the deck.

Happy deckbuilding!

I Wash My Hands Of This Weirdness this just seems easier but then that's just a personal preference.

Not a bad little combo. Unfortunately it still is vulnerable to Abrupt Decay , Path to Exile and any other commonly used hard removal in modern. (Exactly why I don;t run my blistercoil combo deck.)

I've found that Not of This World and Pact of Negation work well with Nivmagus Elemental and stop removal except Abrupt Decay .

It's definitely a glass cannon, but those are my favorite strategies

What about things like Mizzium Skin ? Sideboard tech? Gets around uncounterable.

Sweet. I have Apostle's Blessing which works really well.

Nivmagus Kiln is an elemental combo decklist that does something similar to this, using Ground Rift . I'm convinced that this could get ported to a legacy deck.
