This was my first true deck design. Originally my 2nd deck ever was a championship deck based on merfolk from lorwyn; which my brother bought me for my 11th birthday. Well he moved back to Florida so I began to experiment and improved the design. However when he moved back he put me in my place by making an even more impressive variant. Well the pattern of sibling rivalry continued until he gained enough respect for me as a player to allow us to do a cooperative on the deck. We created a deck that existed in 3 variants, the standard variant (which is this one), a control variant that focuses on field and another that focuses on spell manipulation. This is the standard variant and it is the most effective deck I have ever ran. I kept track of my win to loses to date 234 to 23. It has infinite combinations and is literally able to do almost anything a 60 card deck can accomplish without over extending its boundaries. Life gain in mass, unblockable damage, superbuff combos, tokens by the mass, and if you play right there is an infinite turn combo. To be melodramatic, if I could pick any deck to describe my entire play style and personality this deck is my only real choice. However, it is still open to suggestion as it doesn't include many more recently released cards that I have not considered yet.
Merfolk is also my favorite deck to run. I run a similar deck but I think you can still optimize this deck. Why not add 4x Glacial Fortress , remove the 4 card:Sea's Claim and switch them out for 4 Unsummon or Swords to Plowshares ? Seahunter is a nice addition too.

use some cards like, ponder, telling time, or sensei's divining top and for islandwalk sneak attack put some aquitect's will (enables islandwalk and card advantage) and or spreading seas

How about Mirrorweave ? Once you turn an opponent's land into an island, you can Mirrorweave your Lord of Atlantis . If you have 4 creatures, that'd be swinging for 24 dmg, not counting any of your opponent's creatures, as Mirrorweave would turn them to Lords too, further boosting your guys.

genuine139, do you realise that Tundra costs upwards of $300? Little bit expensive to be playing in a budget deck.

Same as above, I've play tested this deck a few times and since there's about 3/4 blue devotion to 1/4 white devotion, casting those blue-blue merfolk is difficult, so removing a bunch of plains for islands and adding glacial fortress would make it better. +1 anyways!
