Ohhhh Boiiiii —May 11, 2016

Rhox Has gotten pretty hated around in my local magic community- I love it. Because of this, I've taken it upon myself to make a Rhox deck for every color to just swap around and mess with. While red-rhox-budget is similar to this deck, it has a different way of approaching it, and offers a more dangerous play style for more reward. If you have any suggestions for the last 3 remaining colors (I could even make a Artifact deck somehow?) I would greatly appreciate it (Already have a idea for the white- because my friend suggested it. Go him!)

So yeah, this deck will still be worked on and what not, but hey, new Rhox decks. Yeah!

Why is Roar of Challenge in here? You can have their creatures block Rhox, but if you're choosing to have him deal his combat damage to the player, then it's kind of pointless. He doesn't deal combat damage to both, you choose one or the other I'm pretty sure. Sweet deck idea though! +1

CorvaxTheCursed, with Roar of Challenge I can force my opponent to block Rhox with all of their creatures, leaving them wide open for damage from my other creatures with the additional damage from Rhox.

Lets say I have two Terra Stompers and a Rhox down, and my opponent has numerous creatures that will surely kill me next turn if I can't somehow kill them beforehand.

With Roar of Challenge I can apply the effect to Rhox (5 Damage directly). With all of those Tokens being forced to block Rhox, I can have my Terrastompers also attack directly (16 Damage Directly).

Cool concept. I partially agree withCrovaxTheCursed, but I see how Roar of Challenge can help you. Have you considered adding an effect like Wasteland Viper it's a body but also a cheap way to get the old (OK I'm dating myself here) basilisk/lure combo effect. This way in the event your opponent is going wide with tokens or Coco, you have that option to potentially wipe out his/her board state.

Good job though.

Awesome man, i have a similar non budget deck. What about Thorn Elemental? 1 mana more than Spinebiter, it does not has infect but the amount of damage is considerable. Here is the deck i'm testing, it has an aggro sub theme for early pressure.

douglasd3 Lol Thorn Elemental is where I got the idea for a direct damage deck. While searching around, I found Rhox which I liked better personally~ I'm planning on making Rhox decks for all colors (for the lolz) so I'll be sure to check your deck out!

420swed This is just a basis of a deck, you can change anything you don't have with any cards you may have laying around to make it even cheaper :3

Hey,

I built this deck irl and it is fantastic. I wanted to talk about some tweaks I made to the deck. Most are just personal preference, but I wanted to share regardless. Firstly, I did -1 Forest and added Garruk, Caller of Beasts to help generate more field presence late game against control decks or decks with lots of removal. I wish I could have gotten regular Garruk Wildspeaker, but he's kind of expensive for a budget deck. I also removed one Wild Defiance and one Rampant Growth to add two Swell of Growth, which is absolutely fantastic for this deck. I also sided two Hurricane as an anti flying board clear and potentially a finisher. I hope you consider some of these in your deck.

Necromanatee Thanks for your feedback, I'm glad you like the deck :)

Garruk, Caller of Beasts Will definetly help out late game- and Garruk Wildspeaker is tempting as well. Extra mana is always nice, and having alternatives like Swell of Growth and Wildspeaker can make summoning and buffing alot easier for me, which sometimes takes longer than I would like it too.

Hurricane is a god-send for this deck: Damage and Flying Protection!

I'm planning on cleaning up this deck sometime tomorrow- and going to order some cards soon, so I'll let you know how they work out- and if Garruk Wildspeaker is worth buying :)
