Updated version of the $7 Ultra Budget Red Aggro. After much adjustment and the addition of Chainwhirlers, it was time to spin this version off into its own deck.

Note: the Chainwhirlers put this deck north of $20... but you can swap those out for some Keldon Overseers or Pyromantic Pilgrims, and knock it back under $10. Doing so actually speeds the deck up by 2 damage a turn earlier, but the Chainwhirlers’ potential to remove threats is a worthwhile trade off.

Folks often question the inclusion of so many lands, and to that my reply is that it simply works.

The mana curve is very smooth and it makes turn 4-5 wins possible a little more often. Not only that, when you know you’re playing against a deck that’s slow to spool up, you can ease the aggro and sideboard 2 or 3 Mountains.

Sideboarding is key to winning Bo3s. I’ve been encountering more gate decks and others lately, that rely on duals to spin out good spells, so we have 4 Alpine Moons in the SB. Also a good splash of artifact hate and creature removal (burn). The Hijacks are fun too- esp when an opponent is forced to block his own creature and ends up losing both :)
