I didnt see if anyone pointed this out yet. Just in case no one mentioned this yet, what about the Sunforger engine/toolbox in the deck? It's very boros, very powerful and will give you repeatable burn and lifegain if you put the engine in with support for it. A basic recap is:

Load the deck with quality instants you can tutor with Sunforger. Add in equipment tutors to find the sunforger. Then add a recursion engine with cards like Reito Lantern to put the instants back in your library after you cast them. You can, for example, then do stuff like cast any of these once per turn if you wanted: Comeuppance, Settle the Wreckage, Warleader's Helix or Radiating Lightning. Or any other instants as long as they are cmc 4 or less and white or red.

You could probably drop 2x Goblin Gathering , Radiating Lightning , Sandblast , Mad Prophet , Magmatic Chasm , 1x Blade Instructor and Divine Verdict for 4x Lightning Bolt and 4x Oblivion Ring .

Now, I'm about to explain something really weird to you.

Back it the day, you couldn't actually target planeswalkers with things that dealt damage. Instead whenever a player would be dealt damage by a source other than a creature dealing combat damage, that source's controller could choose to redirect it to a planeswalker that player controls instead.

Other than just not being very intuitive, this made for some really weird interactions.

Vexing Devil or Browbeat for example, could be used to kill planeswalkers which definately wasn't what they were intended to do, and if a player had hexproof, their planeswalkers could no longer be damaged by things like Shock , due to technically needing to target the player for that to happen.

So they changed the rules so that Planeswalker had to be targeted like they would be by a removal spell such as Hero's Downfall , opting to errata every old card that used to say "damage to target creature or player" to say any target, so that they would still work the way they were intended.

So Lightning Bolt is the exact same card as Shock it just deals an extra damage, it's just too old to have the opdated text printed on the card.

This is the current deck I'm running because I don't have all the cards that I want for this and i've gone 25/2/0 in MTG Arena so far - I'm thinking of switching this up to UBR but this idea can really just work for any colors you prefer, I just Like the combo with white because of return creatures I need and low cost damage spells for creature removal similar to red but triggers at different times.

It's been 5 years since I've last played and I'm really enjoying this block so far in standard - any help is much appreciated.

As of release for Ravnica Allegiance Day one this is what I currently have for it, I'm just so sick of everything being so creature aggro based I figured i'd put together something to mess with people's heads if they play that way.

Pestilent Spirit only works with giving your instants and sorceries deathtouch, not from creature damage abilities. A card like Radiating Lightning could be used for board wipes of opponents creatures and damaging your opponent and it's cost is the same as a wrath of god or a Damnation.

My gut reaction is that your weakest cards are Fanatical Firebrand, Legion Warboss, and Wizard's Lightning. The Firebrand is a 1/1 that in the late game might ping your opponent. The Warboss is just going to create 1/1s that die in combat immediately (though might be a good card against control decks in the side board), and will likely trade if it ever attacks. Without a critical mass of wizards, Wizard's Lightning is just an Open Fire, which isn't very impressive.

Electrify, Radiating Lightning, and Doublecast aren't going to be that good for you. Bombard and Spit Flame are both superior to Electrify, but even then, they aren't that good. Radiating Lightning is going to, most of the time, bolt your opponent, ping all their creatures, and perhaps kill 1 of them. For 4 mana, that is not enough. Radiating Lightning is probably at its best against token decks, but Fiery Cannonade is the better card in mono-red for that. Doublecast needs another spell to work, and even then, that is probably not enough to justify it in your side board.

Electrify and Radiating Lightning are too slow for constructed play. Doublecast, as SynergyBuild stated, needs another spell to be usable, and requires you to have 4 mana open. It might be playable in an Izzet spells deck with Goblin Electromancer when you can basically get two 2 CMC spells for a total of 3 mana.

As for my proposed sideboard, Silent Gravestone and Smelt would be worth considering, probably replacing Jaya Ballard, Experimental Frenzy, and Mountain.

I want a super fast deck...I would love to burn the face off my opponent as quick as possible. What do you all not like about Doublecast, Electrify and Radiating Lightning
