are Tajic, Blade of the Legion or Firemane Avenger viable to be competitive in standard?

Tajic more so than the Angel, in my opinion simply due to the ability to swarm the field and pop a Madcap Skills on him. The angel would still be viable in a more casual setting. But if you want to use either in your competitive deck, go for it. The surprise factor may give you the edge, plopping something down your opponent didn't expect.

If you linked to the deck your trying to fit either in, we'd have a better idea if it could work or not.

Back when Avacyn block was around, he was fun, I used him in a deck, the meta has been changing. But I can easily see them be competitive. Assemble the Legion , Frontline Medic , Purphoros, God of the Forge and something with trample, so, maybe like Archetype of Aggression or Anax and Cymede . It could work for sure though

Boros works best as aggro in one of two ways.

First, there is Boros Burn, which is primarily Red and the only creature is usually Chandra's Phoenix (you might see Eidolon of the Great Revel nowadays) and then plays a shitload of burn, using White mostly for Boros Charm and Warleader's Helix , with maybe some Chained to the Rocks for removal.

The other way to efficiently play Boros is with the Heroic mechanic and abusing inexpensive spells to get maximum value. Normally, a card like Titan's Strength wouldn't be fantastic in Standard, but strap it to a Phalanx Leader and you've got yourself a threat. Same with Gods Willing , Madcap Skills , Ordeal of Purphoros , etc.

Tajic and the Angel are just too slow. By turn-5 and turn-6, most decks have ways to keep you off 3 creatures.

I play Boros heroic. If you want to see what an efficient standard Boros budget is, check out my $40 deck that can win turn 3-4 every game--Ordeal of Madness
