Bad Luck Dimir

Standard forum

I think it's a real shame and unfairness that dimir is the only black guild which doesn't have access to a board-sweeper at this moment in standard. Even Rakdos can trust on Anger of the Gods for this control main need. Really hope there's something awaiting on Born of the Gods to support my Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver based deck.

Cyclonic Rift ? Curse of the Swine ? Far / Away ?

Seriously, though, I agree. If black gets a sweeper, even a Mutilate -type effect, I will be very happy.

shuflw, Gaze of Granite and Golgari Charm for some aggros and with an upside of versatility.

forgot Gaze of Granite . if you're counting Golgari Charm as a sweeper then you could count Shrivel .

Cyclonic Rift overload is too slow for aggros and it doesn't really take care of everything. Curse of the Swine still leaves me in disadvantage on the board (If at least was an instant). Far / Away is an awesome card and there's a playset on my deck but still a little slow for aggros (I remember Far / Away just sucking against a Soldier of the Pantheon and a Fiendslayer Paladin ). I pray for that Mutilate or something like a Night of Souls' Betrayal .

Although its sorcery speed affects (You shrivel W/R and get open for a Boros Reckoner or a Fiendslayer Paladin . R/W creatures mostly have 2 on thoughness, B/R aggro is the only one who really suffers to Shrivel ) I do count Shrivel shuflw and there's a couple sideboarded and there are Ratchet Bomb s on mainboard.

A black sweeper would be sweet. I have been playing magic at a higher level for about 1 year and I have been wanting to but together a competitive Grixis Control deck.

I fear if black did gain a good sweeper, such as Black Sun's Zenith or Damnation , mono black would get better. The deck is already one of the best in the game.
