The question has been gnawing at me for a while and i'm just getting a few opinions and ideas for future deck ideas by doing this... which will probably help a few other people out on this site.

I'm thinking of 3 categories for them, sub-divivded into formats; standard, modern and legacy...

The categories are:

-Filtration Draw- cards that draw you one card but let you choose the card you get e.g. Impulse , Telling Time

-Quantitative Draw- cards that draw a large chunk of your library giving you a full hand e.g. Wheel of Fate , Harmonize

-Conistent Draw/Draw Engines- cards that can consistently keep you drawing more than your opponent turn after turn e.g. Underworld Connections , Howling Mine

It's given that Brainstorm the best/most favored filtration spell in legacy.

Personally I like card:Tezzeret's Gambit for draw where is can be supported.

Effects like Reforge the Soul I like because it's combining card:Wit's End with "Draw 7 cards" at the measly cost of your present hand.

Yeah but most of the time card:Tezzeret's Gambit winds up as little more than a glorified colorless Divination if you don't have a planeswalker or something with counters in play. it'd be better if it was at instant speed (then again, what wouldn't?) but i still see your angle on the card.

Dark Confidant technically counts as a consistent draw engine and is a staple for it in some formats.

Two of my personal favorites are Accumulated Knowledge because getting 4 cards for 2 mana is always nice, and Browbeat for the damned if I do damned if I don't situation it puts opponents in.

Mind Unbound is pretty nice and Staff of Nin as well because only you get the extra draw and it can do damage. The main drawback to each is the 6 mana they cost to play.
