Isle think about it. —April 4, 2016
I'm currently shaking up the manabase and trying to decide if Shelldock Isle is worth keeping

I used to have two of them in the deck but they're too slow for Modern. 5 mana is a huge investment and it does nothing until turn 6. I've built a casual mill deck with them and Phenax, God of Deception called Back once again, with the mill behavior.

all right cool, just wasn't sure if you considered them or not.

I was gonna say sideboard the Archive Trap but then I was like "oh yea fetch lands are a thing in modern..." so it's solid. Other than that this looks amazing! I really love the Glimpse the Unthinkable + Mind Funeral combo, was going to build a deck with it as well but then I was like "glimpse is $30... Let's not do this". Also ever considered running Scrabbling Claws/Relic of Progenitus instead of Crypt Incursion? I know it's there to stop reanimator but relic/claws would be out turn 1 and it is an extra draw if needed... Maybe?

Archive Trap is great, especially if you trick your opponent into springing it with Path to Exile or Ghost Quarter. Crypt Incursion was originally put into the deck to buy me an extra turn from the lifegain, but has turned out to be an incredible game changer. I considered Relic of Progenitus, but ended up going with Ravenous Trap instead.

Ghostly Prison is really good sideboard if you're worried about aggro decks beating you before you've successfully milled them. I find the Esper version of the Mill deck a lot more consistent than just U/B. I also found Lingering Souls more valuable in the deck over Jace's Phantasm which is basically a dead draw until t5-t6. Also +1 for an awesome username haha.

The deck cool but if the main theme is mill than i recommend consuming aberration. 5 mana blue/black you're opponent has to mill till they reveal a land every time you cast a spell. and it's power and toughness are equal to the number of cards in you're opponent graveyard.
