Decreasing Speed, Increasing Closing Power —Feb. 28, 2020

The deck got a little too fast for my playgroup so I'm dialing things back a little bit.

Out

Hangarback Walker - Good card, but not all that good without a sac outlet. It's also pretty mana intensive and I would rather be using that mana on servos and constructs.

Gilded Goose - She's the worst dork in the deck so she's out

Collective Unconscious - Six mana for a sorcery is a big investment so Collective Unconscious is out.

Forest - Making room for a utility land

In

Chord of Calling - Will typically serve as a third, more expensive version of Green Sun's Zenith and Finale of Devastation but the instant speed and convoke will occassionally be useful

Return of the Wildspeaker - because of the way the constructs scale, Return will typically draw one fewer card than Collective Unconscious, but costing one less mana, being an instant, and potentially serving as a closer is well worth the tradeoff

Pathbreaker Ibex - Ibex was initially cut when I was speeding up the deck, but he's back now that I'm slowing things down a bit. His not having haste is a downside that I hope to mitigate with Concordant Crossroads, Finale of Devastation where X=10+, and using Chord of Calling to bring him in during an opponent's end step.

Hall of the Bandit Lord - Entering tapped isn't great, but the granting haste is, especially now that Pathbreaker Ibex is back. The life loss is negligible

Awesome!! I always wanted to make a Oviyah artifacts list. Such a fun commander. My Oviyah deck is just green cards I own going as wide as possible. I don't own a lot of the key artifact combo cards and good tutors and whatnot so it semed way too expensive.

Thanks, Optimator! I love her so much.

I've found the go-wide strategy to be the fastest and most effective way to build the deck, but the artifact combo version was so fun, janky, and unexpected that I'll probably create a second Oviya Pashiri deck around it when I get to the point where I'm completely satisfied with this version.

May I see your version of the deck? I'm always curious to see how other people built her.
