Doubling Season, Summoner's Pact, Worldly Tutor —Aug. 30, 2019

Out

Burnished Hart - I'm cutting Burnished Hart because it's the lease efficient ramp spell in the deck and it probably shouldn't have been in the deck this long.

Lifecrafter's Bestiary - The scry on upkeep is nice, but because this list runs very few creatures, I rarely get to use the second ability. It's a great card, but I don't think this is the right place for it.

Myr Battlesphere - The Battle Ball is a great card, but it's seven mana and I would rather have Avenger of Zendikar or Hornet Queen most of the time I play it.

In

Doubling Season - Doubling Season will typically act as a more expensive, version of Parallel Lives, but redundancy and it incidental synergy other cards in the deck make it worth running.

Summoner's Pact - Tutors for Craterhoof Behemoth for free and at instant speed. As long as I remember my triggers, the upkeep cost shouldn't be a problem.

Worldly Tutor - Another instant-speed tutor for Craterhoof Behemoth or whatever creature I need at the time.

Potential Cuts

Arachnogenesis - This card has saved my hide several times now, but as my playgroup becomes more and more cutthroat, fewer people are relying on combat damage to end games. We still have enough creature-based strategies for the card to be worth running, but that might not always be the case.

Druid's Deliverance - See Arachnogenesis

Inspiring Statuary - Inspiring Statuary (and, to a lesser extent, Cryptolith Rite) might be remnants of the Paradox Engine days. Without the ability to untap the servo army after Improvising a Craterhoof Behemoth, the card's just not as useful as it used to be. It's still good, but it'll get dropped if anything more consistent comes along.

Potential Inclusions

Compost - I haven't seen enough decks yet to judge whether or not Compost will be a reliable source of card advantage. I'll make my decision once I've seen more of the meta.

Reap - Just like with Compost, I'll make my decision on Reap when I have a better idea of what the meta looks like.
