Mono-White Bird Soldiers Deck 2.7

Legacy

MidNight12

Sideboard

this is an upgraded Mono-White Bird Soldiers Deck from my old one i had back in 2003.

the different is that, this deck pump up creatures by wiping out the board (battle field).

combo: Soulcatchers' Aerie + Emeria, The Sky Ruin + Wrath of God

basically, summon weenie bird soldiers to the battlefield to stall the game until you acquire Soulcatchers' Aerie, Emeria, The Sky Ruin, and seven plains. then Wrath of God everything, putting all creature to graveyard (including your opponent). With Emeria, The Sky Ruin's land ability, you'll be able to bring back your weenie bird soldier once a turn from graveyard to play. instead of being weenie, they will be huge because of Soulcatchers' Aerie.

defense consist of Pacifism, Mobilization , and Wall of Omens (consider it as a draw engine as well).

conclusion: the best thing about this deck is that its affordable and fun, but very slow. as you can see, there aren't any one dropper and the combo have to wait until seven plains to be acquired. on a one-on-one match (against such deck as my friend's zoo deck), i am able to win most of the time even "before" the combo can be set up. this deck have trouble going against affinity deck and burn/haste deck due to there quickness, so this is best suited for matches like free-for-all and/or 2-on-2.

return of ravnica have answer my call on the one-dropper slot. it gave me Judge's Familiar, that provide an extra ability that Suntail Hawk doesn't have.

Judge's Familiar can also give me the option to somewhat force feed Soulcatchers' Aerie. after countless play, i realized Journey to Nowhere isn't that great. so i replaced it with Swords to Plowshares instead, because its one mana less and it's an instant.

also, i ready want to replace Aven Brigadier (this card is the weakness link). there are time i ready needed to cast him, but didn't have enough mana. as a lord that cost 6 mana, its just too much since my average mana cost is around 3... i pray to the magic god for a better white-bird-lord in the near future
