Eldrazi Noodle...... that's hilarious

I actually got the Alaskan Bull Worm joke from Corn Liberated.

You should have Oblivion Stone instead of All Is Dust, but cost is relevant.

We discussed All Is Dust vs Oblivion Stone before he last updated the deck and comments. He wanted to put his own personal spin on it and he also liked all is dust.

the main advantage to it is that i can cast it t3 before they win on t4. against aggro that makes all the difference.

To go to a GP, you pretty much will want a stock list. This means you'll need Oblivion Stone and a stock sideboard to match the meta.

Most GR Trons that I'm seeing are running 2 Newlamog and 0 Spaghetti. Just an observation, and I honestly don't know tron well enough to know the exact reasons.

2 Ghost Quarter in place of 2 Forest isn't a bad idea.

One last thing: in order to take this to a GP, you have to have cool looking basics. Dull basics are not a good start to top-8'ing. Forest is a popular choice, as is Forest. Forest and Forest are also popular. You really can't go wrong with Forest either. If you want to be really classy, paint your own altered forest, which will gain you respect from every dignified magic player in the room.

kk. thanks. also, the forests dont update on the deck. i have some hip forests at home. i updated. is 3 newlamogs a bad idea?

January 10, 2016 11:12 p.m.

Probably. Try a fourth Pyroclasm instead?

And don't feel obliged to play the 'better' version of the deck if you don't like the flavor, especially not here on Tappedout. By all means, play All Is Dust at your FNM, but if you're going to a GP, you really do want to have a competitive deck. It's just not worth the entrance fee and travel fee to go and play what is a strictly worse version of a tiered deck.

I think sb 1 pyro. I often got rushed with them when i ran 4. What do you think about reality smasher. It is very likely to be played t3, and it is a 5/5 haste, trample, that they dont want to target, or they will have to discard. also, do i see a reality smasher mindslaver deck coming?

January 10, 2016 11:19 p.m.

Nah. Too aggressive. Tron wants to play things that end the game singlehandedly or at least prevent the opponent from winning. You don't really want to be swinging with no benefit other than their life loss. The Alaskan Bull Worm gains life on contact, so swinging with him is fine because you're becoming harder to kill. Smasher does no such thing.

three Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger is too many. i'd run another Spellskite instead. He will come up almost every game anyway, and Ancient Stirrings will make that even easier (so will Sylvan Scrying as it'll pull land out of your deck and make it more likely to draw non land cards plus increase the chance of drawing newlamog). The problem is that you don't always want to draw him as it is more important to put together the tron lands and you have 3 Wurmcoil Engine to deal with any problems you encounter early game. That's also the reason we have so many destruction and burn spells.

Natural State from Oath of the Gatewatch is better than Natures Claim in the sb.

is grove of burnwillows too expensive right now? Otherwise I think its better than karplusian forest since it doesnt hurt you vs aggro decks.

@car: DO NOT GO WITH BRAND. GO WITH PODLESS COLLECTED COMBO OR ELSE I WILL KILL YOU. Jk but please heed my advise.

G/R Tron is not a cheap deck, but it is definitely a great one. That being said, even though it is expensive and you said you have found a deck you like more, why not still keep this deck up online? You can always proxy something if you want to play it in casual, and if you every want to return to G/R Tron then you have the deck and you can continue to update and work on it whenever you choose.
