Hey man, I'm loving how the list has evolved. It's looking really sharp!

What are your thoughts on Spellseeker for the deck? 3 CMC is rough, and she's effectively a worse Grim Tutor, which I know you hate BUT she's less mana restrictive, in our main color, can block, and hits most of the same targets. You even save the three life.

I see her as a plausible replacement for Merchant scroll in the deck. she gets almost all the same relevant targets (except Force) but you can also find Consult, Angel's Grace, and even Swords if you really need it. That's 2 wincons and some of our rare on-board removal.

Worth the CMC? I'm not sure. but what do I know, I still play Grim Tutor!

Sadly, I think it's a worse Grim Tutor, and since I don't play that card, I have not played Spellseeker.

I'm not sure how I feel about Merchant Scroll lately. It's really just grab High Tide or Force of Will and I much prefer getting the latter since the list doesn't really need HT as much to go off any more. I also cut Candelabra of Tawnos so there's that, too.

I'm with you in waiting for something stronger in that slot. But I'm not sure when it will happen lol. I've been medium on Scroll/Grim lately but elect to play the Scroll.

I agree that Scroll is a bit of a holdover from when the deck was more invested in HT+Candle/Spiral lines, which aren't really necessary any more. If you want to storm up a ton of mana, just play Hurklys/Chain/Paradoxical in Grixis; Zur doesnt really need it. Bold decision to cut Candle too! removing a "sacred cow" is always a contoversial move, but i think your list totally supports it. I may decide to do the same if i'm ever behind on rent or need a new car!

That said, a 2-mana tutor is a terrible thing to waste. I'd probably swap it to grim if i were you, but i wouldn't swap over to spellseeker directly. why do you prefer Merchant over Grim? the CMC and lifeloss are definitely awkward, but it's vastly more flexible.

Hey man, big thanks for all the work you've put into doomsday. Is there any benefit to tainted pact in the list?

If you are going all in on that line, sure! But you probably want to cut the Islands and also cut Doomsday. TPact is good but inconsistent on a High Tide manabase. Gush/Islands/DD would be the trade-off.

Hi, are Isochron Scepter combos not worth playing anymore? I see a lot of list cutting it even though it compliments Sensei's Divining Top and list that play Aetherflux Reservoir ?

They are absolutely worth playing and are played in Shimmer Zur. However in Doomsday builds they are not at their best and don't offer nearly as much so they are not played.

Hey there, I am doing a bit of research on The more competitive decks out there for my Stax deck.

• So the first question is: what kind of "Stax" or "Hate cards" would shut this deck down or make it impossible for you to win under certain singular or combined Effects?

• And the second question is about Sanctum Prelate as I am trying to gather as much information about the stopping power of calling specific CMC with this card vs certain strategies, Would you consider CMC , or CMC to be more effective here to disrupt your gameplan?
