Initial Update for Eldrich Moon —July 25, 2016
Changes are as follows:
-2 Grasp of the Hieromancer: The intention of this card was to allow the creatures to punch through blockers, but it is bad against removal. It also doesn't this job as well as Reflector Mage and is more expensive than Anointer of Champions (with worse synergy).
-1 Clutch of Currents: I've always been happy when I've drawn one, but I've never been happy to draw a second.
-1 Archangel of Tithes: This card was great (and busted with Always Watching), but has sadly been removed from the card pool. What makes this even more tilting is that it has been replaced with a janky aura.
-2 Kytheon's Irregulars: This card was fine, but Thalia, Heretic Cathar does the same job more efficiently and has better synergy with Bygone Bishop.
+2 Thalia, Heretic Cathar: If she hangs around for any length of time, she is really great at allowing you to push through damage for very little investment.
+1 Gisela, the Broken Blade Meld: While she lacks synergy with the rest of the deck, she's efficient, has evasion and is good at racing. The downside is that she dies to a Fiery Impulse with spell mastery.
+2 Wharf Infiltrator: A 1/1 for two mana is a less than impressive rate in an aggro deck, but looting is very powerful and being able to generate 3/2s for two mana is pretty solid. I'm not entirely convinced that it's good, but I'm definitely convinced it's worth trying.
+1 Collective Effort: I was far from convinced this card would be good, but I have to say that I've been thoroughly impressed with it so far. Three mana is a lot, but on a stalled board it's both an anthem for your creatures that also kills their best creature. The flexibility of the card is the key. I've been so impressed, I'm sorely tempted to add a second copy.
The addition of Wharf Infiltrator also meant a minor change to the manabase:
-1 Plains
