Welcome to my page.

"..Acknowledgement is the first moment where positive reinforcement solidifies good intentions into great habits.."

I've been playing since roughly 2013, with my introductory set being set:Core 2012, and my first pack being Born of the Gods (I think). It was whatever pack had Elspeth, Sun's Champion in standard rotation.

I pulled that Elspeth from a pack given to me by a friend, and I've been interested in the game ever since.

A lot of friends in my personal life are on the site, including:

And then furthermore, acquaintances I've met here on the site who are amazing, like:

..I mean, the list goes on for sure. There's a very friendly group of people on this site who help pretty much.. everyone. Remember that kindness matters.

I tend to create Commander/Edh decks the most frequently, mainly because that is my playgroups preferred manner to enjoy the game right now. (2024)

Whether thematic or building to a competitive goal, I try to enjoy what I make and have some element of originality in my concepts, even if the deck is a staple meta-driven deck.

I like to build decks in the Modern, Legacy, EDH, and Standard formats. I have several detailed here on the site, and a few Arena-specific decks as well. That's where I get the totality of my standard play right now, as I don't have a great location to attend locally. (2024)

In short, I enjoy building decks and testing them against my friends the most. The majority of my building is focused on being high-powered at the table, as we tend to play in pods rather than in 1v1 scenarios. (2024)

As of late, I've moved into deck-building challenges and refining previous builds. It was only with the release of Aetherdrift (2025) that I felt inspired to create two "new" decks, one of whiich is a completely original idea, and the other that piggy-backs off of Hollow One shells.

I'm re-igniting my deck-building spark with Tarkir: Dragonstorm (TDM) and Final Fantasy receiving a Universes Beyond set this year in June. (2025)

  • I play in a seven player edh pod and that's typically where we allow proxies, since it's a tabletop experience. (circa.2019-2023)

  • we are currently living (my wife evenable311 and I) with two of our mates Savage_savior6 and afsanamtg, so four player pods are common. (March 2023)

  • I play occasionally with my brother, SaskiaKnight711. I haven't had a regular group to play with in a bit, but I'm hopeful I'll find new players to connect with. (2025)

Don't expect too much stock in the idea I'm discussing until you see the list.

I'm always up for a conversation about any of my builds, or if you've got a similar idea that you've worked on. I'm just as likely to talk about a build I made three minutes ago as I am to discuss one I made three years ago.

Keep building. Keep Playing.

Detailed below is an expansive sorting of my chosen Commander's to represent each color association in Magic, a list for 32 different decks, and 32 (min.) different Commander's. The idea is inspired by NoobNoob275.

This task is popular among the Edh community, so it will take time to reach completion, and it won't be simple or easy. I look forward to many updates and several changes overtime.

Forgive me, but I just realized who I was conversing with. I follow you on YT!

A bit rough around the edges, but hey.. this functions! You have the cast of equipment-focused White permanents, and the deck lovingly reflects a tale of caring for Eight-and-a-Half-Tails, who happens to be a favorite of mine as well. Cheers! +1

MTGBurgeoning oh dude that dragon is BONKERS! I have a Teval. Arbiter of Virtue deck that uses him as a main-cast star, as well as a The Necrobloom deck where it's even MORE popular!

MTGBurgeoning I wouldn't recommend engaging with ShadowMasterNL as they seem to be committed to providing next to no value in conversations on lists, and almost all of their commentary I've seen is negatively framed, regardless of the concept.

That aside, I really love this idea, and am equally fascinated with your Drakuseth, Maw of Flames obsession. So many good dragons to use! +1 because I sat aside my suspension of disbelief and didn't need to pick a fight where there wasn't one. <3

Balaam__ I believe your question is definitely a layers question- and I am in the same boat you are, I don't really know the most direct or correct answer. I'm excited to draft something with the specific intent of stubbornly pushing past your spells, and leaning hard into my own. I hope this is the beginning of me doing that.

Now I didn't wanna detract from how awesome the "No" deck was but I think Wizards just told me for certain what the answer to my question was; the question being, how do you stop that deck? I think the answer is anti-Blue stompy.

The short I tagged below features the card in question, assuming it is in fact real:

This is so cool. I'm trying to get SaskiaKnight711 into playing Pauper with me, and stuff like this is a good example of why and how.

Balaam__ this is miserable... I will HAVE to think of something to counteract this deck, but it just isn't doable. The closest would be an infuriating mirror match, and I think I'd rather stick my clenched fist into a running blender than run a best-of-3 against this abomination. All of my personal gripes with how control has personally hurt me or a loved one, I think this is incredibly effective and super concise. Yeah, no clear win condition but do you need one? Nobody else gets to play up against this very reliable cast of "nuh uhs" and "no ways". +1, despite how bad the taste in my mouth is.

Of course, BotaNickill! It's a solid list! I think Sephiroth is an incredibly powerful commander that also has tons of room to play a couple different styles.

July 6, 2025 7:55 a.m.

SufferFromEDHD I have made the updates - enjoy!

July 3, 2025 6:26 p.m.

FormOverFunction thanks for popping in- yeah, Nin was a consideration but having her hit the field and be static until I could use here ability- even if it does scale- made her a big target. I opted for The Emperor of Palamecia  Flip with my most recent iteration. Don't forget to leave an upvote if you enjoy the list, make a recommendation- light a nearby peasant aflame.. whatever strikes your fancy. Cheers!

All really solid recommendations SufferFromEDHD, I'll shake the base of the tree and see what falls off.

Ahead of the curve though, Emet-Selch, Unsundered  Flip and Emet-Selch of the Third Seat are both here in the stead of Lier, but Lier does reinforce the playability of my entire deck. I like this. Lemme see if it benefits me to change it in such a way, because this might just influence how I build Vivi Ornitier as their own commander instead.

Like how NV_1980 said, also add Ivy Lane Denizen, and Quest for Pure Flame.

June 23, 2025 4:37 p.m.

Balaam__ did someone mention nutty deck ideas that deserve love?! He's right! BAck! AT! IT AGAIN! with these crazy decks. I can always get behind some kind of nuanced golgari themed deck. Food, Elves, Toxic, you name it. This one was no exception. +1
