Red Black Re-animator has been all the rage lately. It replaces careful study with faithless looting. Some lists run cards like Burning Wish and have a wishboard of answer cards. A few use Stronghold Gambit as a replacement for show and tell. Other good sideboard cards are Wear/Tear and Red Elemental blast. A few lists also use sneak attack.

But what about Monoblack Re-animator? You've immunity to wasteland with basic swamps. Collective Brutality or Putrid Imp could replace Faithless looting. The cost of such a deck would be much lower without having to run fetchlands or dual lands and the life gain from fetches might occasionally matter with Griselbrand in play. The real drawback is the inability to deal with say a turn 0 Leyline of the void.

I've mixed feelings about Chancellor of the Annex vs Sire of Insanity. Maybe if Putrid Imp was in the deck, Cabal Therapy might make a good discard outlet that always itself to be used aggressive against the opponent.
