Is a Quicksilver Amulet a viable thing to build around in modern? I am looking to create my own thing instead of play what other people are playing. I understand they play them because they win, but I feel like it will be hrs to recover from an end of your turn Emrakul, the Aeons Torn.
I'm thinking Quicksilver Amulet, Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, and maybe some Ulamogs and Kozileks along with early game disruption like either counters, board wipes, or stuff like Vendilion Clique.
Opinions? Things that would just hose this strategy?

Tooth and Nail is much more resilient. Some decks even mainboard artifact hate like Kolaghan's Command, so Amulet can be slow and just get blown out. TaN can also be countered, but that's about all that can stop it from resolving.

You could play a u/g tron strat with Quicksilver Amulet, that way you still have you're unique wincon plus a viable backup in the form of tron to hardcast if need be. you also get all the disruption and Tooth and Nail.

Stony Silence can hurt me, yes. So I play Sundering Growth or something of the like to stop that. Affinity is still a thing and Stony Silence shits the whole deck off.
Tooth and Nail is cool, but it's basically a 9 mana investment that can be countered. Amulet can't be...the idea is to play Emrakul at the of your turn. That's ultimately game unless you have more than 30 life.

Sideboard against SS with Back to Nature.
I think it's a viable in Modern with a tron style deck. I know Amulet is just plain broken in EDH, where it enables me to play lots of high cost creatures for fairly little mana.

Atony1400, that where the idea was born for me. Somewhere between kinda wanting to build Tron and seeing the damage Quicksilver Amulet does for me in EDH I decided to marry the two ideas. Clearly the deck wants to play 20 copies of Emrakul, but that is not legal, so I suppose 4 will do.
If I am going to go UG Tron style for this I see Back to Nature being my best option as wel.
ducttapedeckbox, while you're right, they can just counter my amulet...it's good to note that if I am playing this as a Tron style deck with amulet to pump even more threats out, that won't really hose my game plan and they have just removed something that was only crucial to half my game plan.

No problem, I love amulet in Jarad Commands the Dead! Really warrants a threat once it's in play, or even a tutor option for a hand of beefy creatures if you can.
tron? Is March of the Machines a viable option?

That's fair, but I think just resolving a Tooth and Nail for Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Xenagos, God of Revels with 9 mana is easier and is more likely to resolve. I don't know, if I'm going to cheat something into play, I want it to essentially win on the spot.
Regardless, it sounds like a typical RG Tron (or UG if that's what you want to go for) shell will be good.

Atony1400, not sure that makes the cut. All I see it doing for menis making my Amulet killable by creature removable.

I think that there is something here, but, the T&N lists I am looking at look like a lot of fun to play as well. Wonder how a RUG T&N would hold up.

Worth noting that you don't get emrakuls "when cast" ability off of amulet either.

Don't get it for T&N either so I'm not sure that's the issue. However, T&N does give me Xenagod as well, giving Em haste and a 30 point swing.

One sideboard card that would completely hose your strategy is Stony Silence but why not Tooth and Nail instead? The deck is much more resilient
