Trying to play modern

Ive been playing casually for over half my life with the same few friends. my work schedule is changing next week and i will finally be able to make it to fnm and such. so i am working this modern deck Suicide spiritdancer . In its current config. it is def a deck that needs to mulligan into a decent hand. i need help with my turn one play and some suggestions on speeding it up a bit... in my casual play circle its always a turn 4-5 but i have never played modern even at my local level so im not sure how it stacks up there. please feel free to suggest or criticise (constuctively).THANKS

hey thanks. i was kinda thinking that too. im prett sure im going to stick with w/b for now at least till i get my toes wet in my local meta. I was kinda thinking prison term and such as well......I am kinda on a budget and i have alway like to play a bit outside the box and experiment with the more unplayed cards....Ive kind been in a secluded mtg bubble for a while and just recently realized i could use the world pipe to get out there into the local sceen......thank a bunch man

There are also other artifact based lock pieces that currently don't, but possibly could, see Modern play: Trinisphere, Thorn of Amethyst, Defense Grid. Possibly a hybrid artifact/enchantment prison deck using Lodestone Golem? There may be others. The played one nowadays is Chalice of the Void.

I'd look up GW Bogles if you want a really competitive enchantment deck, because those colors are simply better for aggro with enchantments than Black and White in Modern. Otherwise, in your colors I'd try and make it more of a prison deck with stuff like Ghostly Prison and Journey to Nowhere to try and lock the game down.
