Does this combo work?

I'm not sure if this works out. (I'm new to modern)

Scenario:I got Beacon of Destiny on my board and I want to block a 20/20 attacking creature. I cast Arcbond on my Beacon of Destiny and tap him for his ability. I call Beacon of Destiny as source of my choice.

After damagecalculation, my creature will deal each player 20 damage with Arcbonds trigger.

Will my damage get redirected to Beacon of Destiny?

I think it doesn't work by virtue of Beacon not being modern legal.

1) This belongs in the Rules Q&A linked in the top bar.

2) No, because Beacon of Destiny isn't modern legal.

3) No, because Beacon of Destiny dies after it blocked. Due to Arcbond, it deals 20 damage to each other creature and each player. The game attempts to redirect the damage you would get to Beacon of Destiny, which isn't on the battlefield any more. There is no redirection, you get 20 damage.

614.9. Some effects replace damage dealt to one creature, planeswalker, or player with the same damage dealt to another creature, planeswalker, or player; such effects are called redirection effects. If either creature or planeswalker is no longer on the battlefield when the damage would be redirected, or is no longer a creature or planeswalker when the damage would be redirected, the effect does nothing. If damage would be redirected to or from a player who has left the game, the effect does nothing.

If they are attacking you with a 20/20, I recommend Deflecting Palm!

If you're interested in this type of deck, you might look around for decks built around Stuffy Doll, Pariah (Modern legal since it was reprinted in 10th. Edition), Boros Reckoner, Spitemare, and Blasphemous Act.

You could probably do stuff like maindeck Kor Firewalkers to use in combination with Pyroclasm and Anger of the Gods.

As SamCre said, your best bet would probably to go with Deflecting Palm

Neat idea for a combo though.
