Our last CD was about the JOU Prerelease. This time, we're focusing on Launch Weekend.

What do you plan to play this weekend? What do you think of the Hero's Path?

I'm not certain if you are talking about Release Day (Fri, May 2), or the Game Day (May, 24-25).

At my LGS, We really only do Draft on Release day. If Pre-release is any indication, everyone will be trying to draft White with Black, Blue or Green as a supporting color.

Most, however, will also just be "rare-drafting"... I've pre-ordered 3 boxes for this set, so I'm hoping rare drafting will not be too tempting for me.

On game day, I'm planning on running a variation of a deck built around "Group-Hug / Back-Stabbing"...

...which basically gives each of us bonus card draw... then stabs them in the back by taking all the card draw for myself.

Will need a lot of tweaking between now and then, but it should be fun either way.

I'm going to be going white with a splash of black or red. Depends on what i get really. At the midnight prerelease over 75% of the people who were there picked white as their color of choice. I think top 8 were all white with a splash of red or black.Any combination of those three look to be very powerful right now.

My shop also does a draft on release day. I'll be forcing RG beats, and just letting everyone else fight over white.

As for the next week, I'll be running standard enchantress in standard. The control version, of course. Eidolon of Blossoms , Courser of Kruphix , Nyx-Fleece Ram , alongside Sphere of Safety and removal like Banishing Light .

My LGS is scrapping the sealed event and just running J-B-T draft. There is a Modern IQ Saturday which should keep attendance down. I'll be attending a Standard IQ on Sunday running a deck with 0 JOU cards most likely.

I feel that Journey into Nyx is superior to Born of the Gods in almost every way. The gods are better. Lets face it, Xenagos was clearly the best god from BTG, and the rest are okay, except Ephara who only works in a creature heavy EDH. Brimaz was amazing,as was Courser. Kiora is more praised than she should be i my opinion. Ajani and Sage of Hours are sick when used in conjunction. Keranos finally fed the thirsting Izzet population, Iroas is an Anti-Reckoner, Athreos is just pure amazing, and Kruphix can Make Nykthos become a twenty mana card every turn when coupled with Voyaging Satyr and Kiora's Follower. Pharika is kind of weak, and isn't really what gorgon tribal needed. Godsend is an extremely solid artifact and can turn the tide. Mana Confluence will become an instant EDH staple.

So, I came home from my 2HG Launch. Our packs (especially the prices) were almost completely worthless, so everything was just as normal.

My partner and I made a somewhat decent W/U Heroic and an amazing B/R Control deck out of our pool, with the best possible bombs in red: Stormbreath Dragon and Forgestoker Dragon

Especially the last one is devastating in limited, allowing all of our fliers to go right to their faces. If you ever see a forgestoker in draft, slam it hard enough to break the table into thousand pieces.

Allstar commons went to the Heroic deck though. Aerial Formation won us two games and Supply-Line Cranes were just awesome everytime they dropped.

We went 3-1, losing the first round to bad luck. It was fine.
