Hi everyone,

I'm trying to upgrade this deck: Mono Black Tempo to go even against this other one: Mono U Tron. I'm trying to have a 50/50 experience with those decks because I'm playing those with my gf and the tron one keeps winning over and over.

I'm asking for some suggestion in order to upgrade the Mono Black deck on a budget so that it's not super weak and neither super overpowered.

I feel like the obvious answer is add red for Crumble to Dust and Sowing Salt but that would probably make tron have no chance.

Along lines that might be better for balance, maybe Sinkhole and replace Archfiend of Depravity with Anowon, the Ruin Sage since tron only wants one thing out anyway. I would also consider cutting Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger for some other large colorless creature that is still scary but isn't so oppressive, or you could add in some of the black exile spells like Hour of Glory or Sever the Bloodline.

Little more hand hate. More instant speed spells so you can cast them after they tap out.

Thanks for the tips. So, just to ask, making it more "creature heavy" isn't a good choice? I mean some cards like Ob Nixilis, Unshackled or something like Demigod of Revenge are too slow? Sinkhole is an interesting addition that I didn't know. Thanks for adivices I keep looking after them since I'm quite noob :)

Mono-black isn't going to be able to race out creatures with enough speed to compete with tron. What you need to do is remove their creatures and slow them down. With the exception of Ulamog this can be done with stuff like Doom Blade or Go for the Throat, but since you included an indestructible creature you need to use exile and so that is why I suggested those exile spells.
