I feel every one I play against is Good Stuff!

GUR does some really cool things with creature based combos and spells. Intet, the Dreamer, Riku of Two Reflections and Animar, Soul of Elements can help with those creature based combos by making them provide more. Maelstrom Wanderer can help by making it easier to find them if you use a lot of scry type effects (best combo for him is Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Pestermite ) and as for Surrak Dragonclaw, he can help deal with counter spells that may disrupt your combos.

Good stuffs gets played a lot, more so online I find, but that could just be my area's meta.

Im not exactly sure what your post is about either, are you complaining about facing a lot of goodstuffs decks? Or are the goodstuffs decks mostly RUG? Or are you playing RUG and want to be able to counteract others goodstuffs decks?

Theres not a whole lot one can do to counteract a goodstuffs deck, as they rely less on synergy and/or a specific strategy, and more on the efficiency of individual cards.

You're not really clear on whether you're looking to build RUG or counter it.

RUG does end up looking like goodstuff lists, but that is because there are very few cards that really synergize with the generals.

Intet, the Dreamer just gives you free cards. Why not use the best cards? Same thing for Animar, Soul of Elements, Riku of Two Reflections, and Maelstrom Wanderer. They just give you ways to get cheaper or more good things, so playing the best things is the best way to win.

Surrak Dragonclaw doesn't see much play as a general, he is better in the 99 cards. If you are doing voltron, Maelstrom Wanderer is better, plus he doesn't give himself trample. If you are doing creature swarm, Animar, Soul of Elements is better. If you are doing general goodstuff, all the others give more utility unless you are playing against a bunch of mono-blue decks that run 20-30 counterspells each.

We also just got Yasova Dragonclaw, who isn't as exciting as I would like. Still, she definitely would have to be in a deck that isn't just goodstuff to be perfectly tuned. Maybe try her with buffs and sacrifice engines?

I guess my point was, at least in the meta where I play there are a lot of RUG decks being played, but they all are just good stuff, like I have not seen a deck played that isn't good stuff for RUG. Was just curious if there are more strategies then just hey let me pump the deck full of counter spells, burn spells, and stompy critters! Sorry I wasn't clear with this! I guess I am just generally curious about different Commander strategies based on the RUG color scheme!

There's ways to play RUG that isn't just goodstuff. Both Wanderer and Intet can use top-deck manipulation to cheap things into play. My intet deck used to be somewhat of a combo deck that could essentially chain extra turns together to get something like 30+ extra turns and win by commander damage. You can also play combo-based strategies, but the red identity is hardly needed there.

After seeing Yasova Dragonclaw I thought it would be fun to build a deck that focused on dominating opponents creatures and such and having outlets to put them to use like Sacking them for profit or a way to control them permanently etc.

Animar, Soul of Elements and Riku of Two Reflections are pretty big combo generals. Both go infinite with Palinchron.

The title got me excited that this thread was going to be about the RUG format...

I once had a spellslinger Riku deck that had only 6 creatures. It worked wonderfully on my creature-centric meta, as everyone wasn't seeing me as a threat because I had nothing except lands. I controlled the board just enough for me to assemble one of several spell-based infinite combos in the deck.
