Consistent 5-Color manabase with utility lands

Most utility lands tap for colorless mana, is there any good way to have a consistent 5-Color manabase while also utilizing a variety of utility lands? I know Chromatic Lantern instantly fixes that problem but I can't count on having it every game.

Depends very much on the deck you are playing. For example, Celestial Dawn will do it for white decks, while Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth will do it for black ones. Prismatic Omen is the way for green-based multicolor decks.

A really janky way to fix is Realmwright, but otherwise, mana rocks like Darksteel Ingot and its ilk are really helpful. But primarily utility lands only give colorless mana (or in older cards none at all) and there really are not many ways to fix it.

I think what you want is a good way of getting what you need. If you've got other 3 CMC staples, consider running Drift of Phantasms. All of the transmute cards are awesome in the right set-up, but the 3 CMC slot is probably the one you will need the most.

For my last few 5-color decks, I had a gameplan on what colors I wanted to hit the field when. Green and blue make fabulous first colors. It doesn't often work out with colors dropping exactly on time and in order, but I think the decks run smoother, anyway.

Well that is the big downside for 5C decks, it's easier to get color screwed, especially the more utility lands you have.

It seems silly to need utility lands. Is it a specific type of build you are looking to do? Like a Child of Alara deck so you need stuff like Volrath's Stronghold and High Market? In that case, I just don't include them in the manabase.

Lots of fetches and duals/shocks. Birds of Paradise, etc. Chromatic Lantern is good. Good luck.
