Armageddon, Humility and Cataclysm.

Commander Deck Help forum

Hi, I'm tired of these three cards collecting dust in ny binder: Armageddon, Humility and Cataclysm. I'm wondering what commander best benefits from their inclusion? I'm thinking Nahiri, the Lithomancer list might be the best way to go but am curious if anyone has any other avenues that are viable/semi-competitive?

I play armageddon and Humility in my Augustin's $t4ks (Primer) and armageddon and cataclysm in Chairman Meow...Humility is something you want in a pretty much creatureless stax and mass removal on lands are also great in aggro decks. At least they make aggro a bit more competitive but it's still hard to kill more players with combat dmg

No, Nahiri shouldn't be built around land destruction as she supports a voltron creature built. If you cant win without land destruction, you're too slow. Cataclysm is slightly more tolerable than Armageddon but you need to consider your play group. These type of oppressive cards have a reputation for getting decks banned from kitchen tables.

TearsInRain23 not sure what you mean "If you cant win without land destruction, you're too slow." Nahiri is definitely one of the slowest voltron commanders since there's no chance of winning via commander damage. My LGS is pretty competitive, people can handle it here I think as long as I don't durdle too much in winning.

Gleeock I think sram might be the best way to go too. I'll probably build it so I can interchange both just to see how they do and maybe a eggs build too. You have a list by chance?

Winterblast Thanks for posting the decks. How does Cataclysm work with the voltron aspect? It kind of sucks you have to sacrifice down to one artifact, is that ever a problem?

If thats the case by all means, but you won't want to go mono white, and if you do go mono white, Avacyn, Angel of Hope at least makes your lands indestructible. You're not very clear in what you want out of the deck as a whole so throwing out these three cards that are by all intents and purposes low interactive control cards makes it hard to assist you without knowing a more clear vision.

TearsInRain23 sorry if it's not clear, the point of the post is to find suggestions as to what commander best benefits from the inclusion of all three cards listed. It's probably going to be a stacks deck and light on creatures to get the most value from each card listed. I'm thinking Breya, Etherium Shaper wouldn't be terrible, access to Boros Charm and lots of ways to win even with Humility out.

-- Deck kills quick & landwipe is mostly just a lockout option... There is no durdle & I have won some fairly competitive 4-5 player games - YES! targeting one player at a time - not that difficult if you have the swords of buttkicking & multiple card draw running. Also helps that cyclonic rift really only resets you to basically dropping Sram again & replaying a bunch of low-cost cards for a late-game hand renewal.

Also, If you want to reach the Pinnacle of oppression technology: Zur the Enchanter is your guy (also gives access to black, & some blue MLD/Return lands). But Zur is infamous for extreme "durdleage"
