Because instead of janky-ass combos that'll never work, zandl's taking you back to good 'ole, reliable ramp and all the shenanigans that come with it.
2x Kessig Wolf Run because a true Timmy believes that even a 15/15 Trample could be bigger.
By the way, if you would like to see mine, here it is: deck:the-worlds-spine.
4x bonfire? Really? :P.
How fast can this ramp? Are you able to live long enough to play worldspine? What purpose does Staff of Nin serve? Sorry about all the questions, but I wanna know :D.
Bonfire of the Damned is the best card in Standard. Anything else is a falsehood.
I can usually drop a Worldspine Wurm by the sixth turn, if not the fifth. And then I have Staff of Nin to ping of anything troublesome and keep my hand from burning out. For ramp decks (and I would know), the biggest problem is card advantage late-game. Staff of Nin lets you draw double cards to keep the threats rolling.
Between 4x Bonfire and 4x Mizzium Mortars , I can kill off anything that's bugging me while I ramp.
And I'd much rather ramp and know I'm going to get there than really on a very fragile combo the depends entirely on Worldspine Wurm being in the top 5 cards. And even if Worldspine Wurm gets dealt with on my board, I still have a shitload of mana to drop into things like Bonfire of the Damned , Mizzium Mortars , and Kessig Wolf Run .
This is just a rough build that didn't take much though. I'm sure I could see myself adding in one or two card:Devil's Play or Thragtusk s, for more stability.
Yeah, you might want some spot removal. Not sure what you need, Pillar of Flame might work since undying obviously works well against sweepers. card:Devil's Play might work as well, though it doesn't fight small stuff very well.
If you really want to have fun, splash blue with shocks and Farseek for Cyclonic Rift .Is it a good idea? Maybe. Is it fun? Yes. Equally bad is card:Yeva, Nature's Herald, so I can flash in Worldspine Wurm .
