Force of Savagery is good for scavenging, but Death's Shadow is better! Looks like a fun deck. But, um, where is Grisly Salvage ?! That is a fantastic card that pretty much belongs in any deck that has black and green in it, and this deck has black and green in it. Feel the rush of slamming four of those into your deck. It's awesome.

I agree about Death's Shadow . It works very well in my deck Death's Menace where I the counters on either Lotleth Troll or Vampire Nighthawk . Bioshift can be used to save counters by shifting them from a destroyed creature to another, move counters to double them with Corpsejack Menace 's ability, and as a combat trick after an opponent declares blockers.

Bioshift . I forgot what it was called, so I didn't mention it. Yeah, I've seen 4 +1/+1 counters turn into 16 with two Corpsejack Menace s in play. It gets pretty nasty. The deck can be weak to destruction effects though (stuff like Doom Blade or Supreme Verdict ) so maybe see if you can come up with a way to fix that.

Yea I do agree with you guys that Death's Shadow is far better, i'll have to save up for i can get some though they went up on price when it became a good scavenging card in modern and he can definitely be a creature too if my opponent is low on health so yea definitely better. Grisly Salvage is not on here due to it being self mill which I do not like for this deck cause it doesn't help me, it's good for scavenging yes but I may loose more beneficial cards. I'll have to test it again and see if I can fit it in but not too sure of having it in here especially not 4, maybe 2. Not all B/G decks need it though...

Bioshift is definitely good and I have tested it but I always end up having that card when I have no creatures with counters, it did always give me an extra undying to Strangleroot Geist but most of the times was a wasted card in my hand. I think those cards suggested though I would rather have them in my sideboard cause overall they are good cards and depends on the deck i play against, i'm also thinking of putting some Golgari Charm . Thanks guys much appreciated!!

You can't argue against self-millingby saying you'll lose your best cards. Statistically, milling from the top of your deck is identical to milling from the bottom of your deck. Yes, you could mill your good stuff, but you could also toss out junk and dig deeper to your powerhouses. That's like saying you don't want anything that shuffles your deck because you might shuffle away your good stuff.

Also, it's much cheaper, easier, and faster to pump stuff into the yard with Grisly Salvage than by playing it and using Slum Reaper to sac it. Trust me, go with the Salvage.

I'll definitely keep this deck updated once I see how it works out for me but I see your point i'll have to test it out. So, what would you take out in order to put in a full set of Grisly Salvage ? I know Slum Reaper for one but im not sure what else...

Stuff like Surgical Extraction might jack this deck up in Modern. Just a thought. Love Varolz. Love the deck.

My other question. How do you get Varolz through after you jacked him up on counters?

Your right it can, however, the people I play against never run cards like that. Very few i've played at my local store tournaments never had a problem with that. The way I get Varolz in is by Korozda Guildmage giving him intimidate or sacrifice him for tons of saprolings, if not use his ability on Abyssal Persecutor who can get through, or have Dying Wish sac him do the damage that way while I gain that much life, or sac him with Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord if that's the case. Lastly, Lotleth Troll can abuse those counters and get through, numerous ways to get those counters to be beneficial regardless if it's not on Varolz! But the point is Varolz makes things big and you have to play smart with him especially against certain decks that will abuse the graveyard and ruin your decks main combo, and luck plays a good part on it. I

actually won me two tournaments last month, except at the time I ran Corpsejack Menace instead of Abyssal Persecutor .
