yes. Hopefully the rakdos creature itself doesn't have a downside. Ir wait maybe it will have a downside......

when this deck is legal the closest thing to an artifact planeswalker is gonna be card:Akroma's Memorial so that might be nice :P

Yeah I know FROZR2 XD. I was just playing around because RtR I soon coming out and that tis deck represente Izzet and Rakdos guild. If you look at the top right of the page you can see that my deck is tagged as Grixis, but I didn't wanted to call it simply Grixis Control. If you give me a better suggestion for the name, I would really appreciate it.

As for Geoxis, I'm don't really want that artifact in this deck because I don't have a lot of creatures and card:Akroma's Memorial cost too much mana. But thanks for the idea.

Hum, I don't think it fits in my deck, but this is a bomb for a Rakdos Creature deck.

Still, thanks for the spoiler EnAvDeFordomte. ;)

I'm curious. I see the bonus behind Bonfire. With it's miracle cost option and the ability to dmg opponents while boardwiping. But I think in this deck maybe Mizzium Mortars might be a good mainboard and sideboard the bonfires. I realize the mortars don't dmg the opponent but you can snap them as the signle creature kill or snapback for the boardwipe. Snapping back a bonfire gets kinda costly mana wise IMO. Just a thought.

Zadkiel says... #11

I agree with you, as in the fact that I don't own 2 Bonfire of the Damned and that I don't have >100$ to use to get some. Mizzium Mortars is, as you say, a good replacement. Thank you for the advice.

Ya that pricetag is killer on the bonfires. Another suggestion is maybe drop the Staffs for Chandra, the Firebrand ? With no ramp the staff's not coming out til late and it's only bonus is a weak card advantage you could probably get someplace else.

September 19, 2012 1:55 p.m.

Zadkiel says... #13

Yeah, I was trying to find a way to have some card advantage will still keeping some control over the battlefield. Though, I think the addition of Chandra, the Firebrand would be a better choice, giving me the possibility of copying a spell or dealing with 1 toughness creatures, like Thalia, Guardian of Thraben or Dryad Militant , is pretty nice.

Thanks for the advice Joker1980, I'll playtest the changes and see if it helped the deck. :D

I know what you're trying to do with Syncopate, but it really can't be chosen over Dissipate, for a few reasons:

Dissipate is a 3 CMC hard counter-- which exiles. Since we know Golgari zombies is going to be a big thing, as well as other flashback decks, exiling a spell is a huge tempo swing for you.

Syncopate is easy to play around if your opponents know you've got one. They can leave mana open. Plus, it could be a costly spell in the longer run.

And, the synergy with Snapcaster is just bad. It comes out to the same cost, honestly, when flashback-ed. Dissipate just has too much upside to let syncopate be a thing.

Thanks Intricate08, I think I could try it. I was not putting Dissipate because, in the first prototype of the deck, I was not playing a lot of blue mana producers. Dissipate , with it's 1UU CC, was nearly impossible to cast by turn 3 or 4, but now it's more feasible.

Thanks for the comment, I'm going to try it out.

Im not sure what you would do with 6 Pillar of Flame s, but it would be awesome! I like the deck, and I think it would be fun to play with. You could also try nicol bolas for kicks.

Mark that, 5 Pillar of Flame s. I think you should also be running 4x Brimstone Volley just because it is so powerful.

+1 just for the name; holy crap.

November 7, 2012 11:41 p.m.

Also the deck looks great. Can't go wrong with Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius , Snapcaster Mage , Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker and Olivia Voldaren .

Good job.

Thank you for the comment ResidentPianist.

In deed, Olivia, Niz-mizzet and Nicole are the biggest threats of the deck. There is also Tamiyo's ultimate and the singleton devil's play that can win matches on there own.

If you have other comments, just leave them, I'm always happy to read them. :)

Needs 4x Jace, Architect of Thought . That would help you out with Aggro.

Zadkiel says... #22

Yeah it would be nice to put some Jace, Architect of Thought in there, but what do I get out to put them, have you ideas? Because everything seems tight, I don't know what to remove.

Also, thank you for the advice. I'm going to start trading to have some in the deck and see how it does. :)

Seems pretty strong, don't forget to give Ultimate Price a whirl if your meta demands it. ;)

Also consider Nephalia Drownyard as an alt win con vs control mirrors, though I can't say for sure whether or not a colourless land would be taxing on a Grixis mana base.
