The way of the samurai is one of honor, the willingness to live and die by the sword, and the service to one's lord. With this deck you are a Feudal Lord commanding your samurai legion. Devoted Retainer is always willing to take the front lines early on to make a formidable defender or attacker as a 1/1 that turns into a 2/2 the instant it engages the enemy. The Kitsune Blademaster however will have many opponents question if preventing 2 damage is worth facing down a 3/3 first strike. But if they think your samurai are a threat by themselves then they will really pale when Masako the Humorless arrives to whip your troops into shape. With the ability to block even with tapped creatures you will never be without a defense. But just to be sure you are safe you can order your men to Hold the Line , giving your entire force +7/+7 to defend with. Finally, if the battle still is not over, Konda, Lord of Eiganjo himself will appear alongside Takeno, Samurai General . Once these legendary samurai make their entrance there is precious little that anyone can do to stop them.
