FNM 2 Results —Dec. 6, 2013

Went 3-0 and won the tournament.

Had some trouble on the first match-up. Opponent ran White & Blue heavy control with AEtherling, Jace, Architect of Thought, and quite a few counters. First game, opponent scooped early after around 7 draws of no land. Second game was rough and I decked out looking for an answer. Scooped when I counted my library at 6 cards and graveyard had my win conditions. Sided in Gainsays and pithing needles to handle his Mutavault, AEtherling, and Jace, Architect of Thought. Third and final game, it was a drawing game. Fortunately, I have more than a couple ways to draw and it led to the victory with an AEtherling.

Second match-up, he didn't even want to play. He was a previous opponent from last week and I guess he saw my sideboard changes. He conceded and waited for next round. =/

Last match-up, this opponent used Red & Green with green devotion. I've been anxious to play against this deck, but I overestimated it. I knew Supreme Verdict would say it all. Hero's Downfall answered his planewalkers, both Domri Rade and Xenagos, the Reveler. He had some sideboard answers, but I knew exactly what he'd swap in... Mistcutter Hydras. I sided in a couple Doom Blades and ratchet bombs for some extra permanent control. The two Thoughtseizes screwed him over, especially when he had only one card in-hand at a time. AEtherling gave him a three-turn clock on both games. Took this match, 2-0.

Ended 3-0 with a total record of 6 wins and 1 loss.
