Ixilan Spoilers - Itlimoc, Cradle of the Sun —Sept. 13, 2017
My assessment of Itlimoc, Cradle of the Sun Flip is that it's basically a budget Gaea's Cradle. It has definitely caught my eye though, as it looks like it has a lot of potential in EDH. As an enchantment Flip, it's ability is kinda meh, as it's basically Sensei's Divining Top on an ETB trigger. The Mindcensor'd tutor effect is kinda useful though as it can help get me a creature in hand. I think i'd like to try and test this card out, as ramp is always welcome.
I'm trying to think of a way to add this card to my deck, but what to take out? It's both a land and and an enchantment. Initially it's a strictly worse Mirri's Guile/Sensei's Divining Top, but then it becomes a strictly better Gaea's Cradle. pskinn01 gave me at least a good idea when they said "I would take up a ramp/mana rock slot." so that got me to considering Nature's Lore and Skyshroud Claim for potential removal. Both provide much needed mana ramp, but they do one thing better - they provide mana fixing. So now i'm considering removing an EDH staple - Homeward Path or maybe even City of Brass. What do you think? Please give suggestions.
