This is Kirman's modification of the Azorius Advance starter deck, with the goal of creating, "a lean, agile, tempo-based deck that plays some early creatures and then bedevils the opponent's efforts to do the same. Detain is crucial to that effort, and evasive creatures also play a key role since you don't have to expend a detain on your opponent's blocker if your attacker is already in the air."
