Hidden Guerrillas

Enchantment

When an opponent plays an artifact spell, if Hidden Guerrillas is an enchantment, Hidden Guerrillas becomes a 5/3 Soldier creature with trample.

Middle school for me. I believe my dad got the box for $85. That's so cool you were able to get proper orders to the family business.

Very generous gift and nice memory. I was lucky I pulled a Cradle and Academy from my one box.

I still have that mindset/mentality but this game has been hollowed out by the sharks/vultures/whales. I hate to see what it has become.

Haha I too also don't think it was play tested properly. All the legendary lands are iconic and powerful. Telepathy is a very cool power creeped uncommon. I always had a soft spot for Hidden Guerrillas. Excellent choice for favorite creature. Green deserves land destruction! I'm in the same lane as you but with Endless Wurm. I know it was an artifact block but the enchantments were so powerful. Sneak Attack is my favorite engine piece still to this day. Bedlam has always intrigued me as reverse Moat. Contamination is power at any cost. Gamble is a perfectly balanced red tutor.

As you can tell I really loved this set and what it did to the card pool. Every EDH deck I build has at least 1 Urza Saga card.

Heard about this archetype on North 100. Love the idea, want to build a Bant one for commander. Can I ask if you have considered the hidden creatures eg Hidden Guerrillas ?

Always keep in mind: What does your deck want to do? How does it win?

I'm taking an educated guess with Ulasht, but I'm guessing what it wants is more creatures (especially ones of both colors), and it can win through either overrunning with lots of creatures or with a few really large ones that benefit from all the little ones (like Ulasht itself).

So, we cut things that don't help with this (and that aren't support such as ramp and removal). Some of my picks would include Burning-Tree Emissary, Young Pyromancer, Hidden Herd, Hidden Guerrillas, Gaea's Anthem, Mass Mutiny, Mizzix's Mastery...all these cards (and a good number of others currently in your list) are good cards...but are not really what your deck is doing. Pyromancer and Mastery want to be in decks that have far more spells, where Ulasht doesn't care about spells at all. Anthem and Emissary don't offer effects that make much difference in commander...commander is a format of haymakers, and they don't offer enough 'bang for your buck'. And the Hidden cards rely too much on your opponents for benefits.

I didn't take out enough for all the land -and- all the suggestions you might want to add, but you probably get the idea!
