rothgar13Yeah, en-Vec is better, though the lifegain off Fiendslayer gives Burn players quite the headache. I know I've (physically) put together a mono-W protections deck, and it tends to do great against creature decks, combo decks not so much. The Burn matchup is hilarious though, MB Firewalkers and Fiendslayer's in the SB.

Both see no play because compared to other 3-drops they are not impactful enough. You play your Paladin en-Vec, I play my Lily and make you sac it. You play your Crusade, let me Bolt that and follow up with Goyf. 3CMC 2/2s are not viable when you have players casting 5/5s on T2.

It's not the cards themselves (though Mirran Crusader suffers a bit in this meta because it does die to Lightning Bolt), it's that there's no prominent aggro/midrange shell to house them. Once that changes, they'll see play.
P.S.: Paladin en-Vec > Fiendslayer Paladin in this meta IMO, and the reason why is the creatures. Fiendslayer dies to the likes of Grim Lavamancer, Gurmag Angler, Olivia Voldaren, Ravager of the Fells, Tasigur, the Golden Fang, even a pumped Monastery Swiftspear, en-Vec does not. Never accept a substitute for full protection.
