Help with an anti net-deck

There is a problem at my L.G.S. with netdeckers. Undoubtedly these decks are very powerful but the only decks that are being played is Hollow One, U/W no win condition control, counter company and Young Pyromancer. I am sick of playing against these decks. Especially no win condition control (one match goes 30min) and when I ask them for advice being a newish player the answer has been, “play these decks.” I don’t have the money or patients to play mirror matches all night.

So to resolve this I built this deck I’ve been attempting to advertise. Say My Name

If you have any ideas on this deck on how I can match them let me hear it.

Well no offense but your playing a sub par deck with non optimal choices. (Even among budget options) If you want to play in a competitive environment you should have a viable deck. A d-grade 8Rack deck isn't going to cut it.

Being mono black also limits your options. Enchantments and artifacts can be difficult to deal with.

This being said if you truelly wish to play your deck the way it is you need to bring some side board cards to deal with your meta.

Torpor Orb is good against Company decks.

Leyline of the Void is great against Pyromancer & Hollow One while being decent against U/W Control. There are budget options but leyline is what u really want.

Spot removal would go a long way.

Mutavault can go a long way against u/w Control.

You can also build budget infect moderately well and it hoses a lot of those decks. Especially with a little color protection from Apostle's Blessing. There is a difference in net decking and just finding a good base. I will take a look at your deck real quick and see if I can't recommend a few things tho.

In the meta you describe, Smallpox might be a boon to your opponents. Most of them don't mind a bit of discarding after all.

Also, as others said, you need The Rack over Quest for the Nihil Stone - quest doesn't work unless you enable it, which means you have to spend a mana to play it early, while opponent still has cards to discard, and you would rather spend that mana playing discard.

Necrogen Mists could be just what you want for longer games.

I feel your pain of not wanting to play net decks.

But unfortunately playing decks in the meta is a lot easier to tweak to your liking and be more competitive just because they have been tested by so many people in so many situations.

I do agree that splashing another color or two will strengthen your deck and open up your sideboard a lot.

Hunson_Abadeer yeah I was thinking maybe white for some good spot removel and or name jam cards with cards like Ixalan's Binding or Nevermore. Plus that would go with the theme.
