Is there such a card? I really want one for my mono Black Devotion.

It depends on what format your looking in. Standard? I'm pretty sure its no. Modern, Again, I believe the answer is no, or at least if there is one, it's not worth playing. legacy/Vintage/EDH? the closest your gonna get, or at least the only one worth a damn is Oubliette , which is a strictly worse Journey to Nowhere . Black isn't exactly the color to be playing things like that. they either want to get rid of the creature completely or take it for themselves.

I guess the closest thing standard would have to that would be Stab Wound . But that's honestly about the best your gonna get. a -X/-X with the damage effect ain't bad, but you might as well be playing removal like Dismember or if you really need the devotion, Executioner's Capsule . If your running a decent amount of tokens Attrition or Grave Pact might work as well. But black is probably the easiest color to get devotion in for modern, and works the best doing it.

I know, I'm using Sinister Possession as we speak, but fast is it's just a bad card. I love Stab Wound, but it has the opposite effect of what I want. That is, enchanted creature needs to get rid of ASAP, while I'm trying to discourage attacking and blocking completely. Have a look at Devoted Harpies if you're got any ideas on how to make it functional.

you may want to consider adding white I guess. you can run things like Ghostly Prison . and Pillory of the Sleepless . There really isn't anything in black that can help you for what you want, it's just not part of it's color wheel.

I have no idea what your format is, but there is the very old school Paralyze that was pretty effective back in the day.

Actually, I only started in December, currently playing kitchen-table Modern (I think?) with no intent to go competitive. Probably Commander, once someone else can be bothered to build or buy a deck.

Apparently I'm a Johnny, with a dash of Timmy.

Melancholy from Planar Chaos, though it leeches a little mana every turn.
