best 3-drop in jund

Deck Help forum

I'm trying to build a jund deck, but it's light on 3-drops; i want it to play as much like old jund as possible, with really great curve and tempo. So: what do you think is the best 3-cmc spell in standard in red, green, black, or colorless?

Vampire Nighthawk is a great creature, and Sword of Feast and Famine is always good.

It really depends on the role you need it to fill, but a few good ones off the top of my head -

Vampire Nighthawk - aggressive, flying, lifegain, and creature kill when you need it.

Cunning Sparkmage - great pinger, though generally has to be matched with Basilisk Collar .

Manic Vandal - probably an SB card, but a good aggressive answer to a problem artifact.

Tumble Magnet - for stalling or striking, this guy does it all.

Mark of Mutiny - this guy sees play in a lot of aggressive decks as a way of dealing with enemy creatures that stand in the way of an alpha strike. Even better if you have a sac outlet handy.

Cultivate - excellent ramp. 'Nuff said.

Mimic Vat - is there any problem this CAN'T solve?

Goblin Ruinblaster - see Manic Vandal.

Whispersilk Cloak - protects your bombs and/or lets them get in for the kill, but doesn't really preserve tempo.

Slagstorm - excellent field wipe since it can double as a way to kill planeswalkers.

Beastmaster Ascension - if you've got an aggressive deck, this makes a good finisher.

Mindless Null - SUCH a strong card, this is an automatic 4-of in any deck that's even splashing black. There's even Caw-Blade decks that run swamps for the sole purpose of landing this super-bomb.
