making a Group-Slug Chaos deck
Commander Deck Help forum

So making a Group-Slug Chaos deck but having difficulty deciding on the commander. Currently stuck between the following:
Norin the Wary- out fast, easy manabase, keeps funny things like Confusion in the Ranks going.
Jhoira of the Ghitu- still a simple manabase, no mana curve, easily use the big dumb chaos cards as they tend to be mana intensive and she doesn't care.
Marchesa, the Black Rose- I see this as a better norin, most difficult manabase but it still isnt 5 colors at least, I'm already using some of the things I'd want in here in another deck, largest selection of fun things to use, easily recover from any board wipe, just plain powerful.
I've considered a lot of others as well but feel free to throw more at me. If your curious about other things I'm considering here is some of what I'm looking at You Go Boom, I Go Boom, We All Go Boom!

torpor orb is fine to norin as red has a million and a half ways to kill artifacts. Heres my rundown of typical group slug decks (note: you will usually be hated out by turn 7ish or however fast your slug engine comes online- due to people wanting to end their chaos[i.e. archenemy])
Norin- High maintenance- you must remember to return him, maintain his zone if someone casts a spell at EOT.
Marchesa- she works more as an aikido-ish deck to steal and sac more than cause chaos. I'd rather use mishra for these colors.
Jhoira- You will be hated out more often than you can start your chaos. People dont like jhoira for some reason.
main suggestion to look into:
mogis, lord of slaughter- slug and pressure. 2 damage adds up quickly when youre causing chaos.

chaosumbreon87 I'm the archenemy most of the time anyways... I tried powering my stuff down so most the lists on here are meh but I'm in the process of reversing that. Mishra would be funny but when working is a bit more oppressive than I like. Mogis is a solid choice, hard to remove, gets me Havoc Festival, might do that.
I've decided against Marchesa at least for now as I have a Hapatra deck that needs testing and is using my black +1/+1 counter cards.
Jhoria seems really awesome and can include norin in the 99 where he accomplishes the same task as when he commands.

Jhoira is very hard to play imo, but I like my Jhoira deck very much. You can't really put all these funny big chaos spells in that deck though, because you will be killed before one of them resolves or these spells are simply countered (because you let people know in advance what they Need to prepare for). I think I have less than 15 high mana cost cards in the whole deck and the rest is filled with hardcore control with a lot of "free" counterspells, copying and stealing effects...it's strong but not chaos.
I would still go for Norin because such a deck looks innocent and quickly gets hard to disrupt (except that you can't deal with enchantments well in red). Goblin Assassin makes a lot of "fun", especially if you run at least some token producing goblins or Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker

Thanks for your thoughts guys. I've decided to go with Norin for now. Too many chaotic cards in red that I want to play for me to include a second or third color...

Smokestack. It's a classic and works amazingly. Also, stuff like Static Orb or Winter Orb combined with Pacification Array or Clock of Omens. Give it a shot, artifact-centric Stax decks are super fun to play, bu not against.

I would say Norin, as we have a Norin deck here that is really good. It relies less on all these spells with high mana costs though. Weak points are Overburden and Torpor Orb...
