Playtest Success —May 28, 2015
Playtested the deck and got a hand of: 2 Plains 1 Swamp 1 Bloodsoaked Champion 1 Chief of the Edge 2 Molting Snakeskin.
Turn 1: Swamp, Champion
Turn 2: draw Spear of Heliod play plains, chief (attack for three)
Turn 3: Draw swamp, play swamp 2x snakeskin (attack for 10)
Turn 4: draw Dragon Hunter play plains, spear and attack for 12
This was my first playtest and I was fairly pleased with a $20 budget, this performs very well!
Haha, thanks! I just thought of it, and wanted to see how it was

I'd swap Molting Snakeskin for some removal or combat tricks and protection... maybe Gods Willing or Valorous Stance?
also Arashin Foremost might fit the theme and budget

I can't help but feel this will succumb badly to a control deck. At the very least, a Whip of Erebos might allow you to gain enough life to survive and possibly work around Silumgar, the Drifting Death.

I really think that Spear of Heliod might have a place in this deck

Thanks for commenting!
Sniper83, I certainly understand what you're saying, but in general the Molting Snakeskin if for a really quick extra amount of sustained damage. Casting Chief of the Edge and a Molting Snakeskin when you have three 2/1s out can quickly overwhelm an opponent. Those are definitely good cards for this deck without question, and they could definitely go in the sideboard, if not the mainboard.
Quicksilver The main issues it has with control matchups is the board clear. Although, right now I'm seeing a lot of Drown in Sorrow and much less Anger of the Gods, and oftentimes Drown in Sorrow will suck, and most probably kill off a good portion of your board, but between Chief of the Scale and Bloodsoaked Champion you should hopefully be able to establish a board quickly, while they won't have anything on the battlefield. Whip is definitely going in the list of cards that could be good for this deck!
I appreciate the comments guys!
