Concerted Effort and Odric, Lunarch Marshal are big helps in this deck. The point is to get 1 creature on the field with vigilance, first strike, flying, double strike, lifelink, trample, indestructible, and/or protection and will help to spread that to Guardian of the Gateless, and Breaker of Armies for an ultimate blocker or ultimate army killer.

Deck is made with 3+ player world games in mind but I don't see a problem with it being able to hold itself in a 1v1 match. I've actually successfully won a 1v2 game with this deck because I quickly put protection and Godsend on Guardian of the Gateless to block everything and exile the most dangerous creature that attacks.
