I don't need the cbc dropped enough to spend ~300bucks on it. I'd like to but I have bills n shit. That money has to go to more dumb things like Nether Voids

Gspot this deck inspired me to do a similar style on golgari lockdown/discard, i got my nether void for $15 (terrible condition, but a bit of glue, a sleeve, and some paint to "alter" made it playable)

That's awesome man! Glad you found some inspiration in the list. 15 dollar nether void is still a nether void.

Why not run cards like Liliana's Caress or Painful Quandary?

I have never played Commander, and am looking to get into it. I've spent like 20+ hours looking at decks and this is by far the most interesting. I will be proxy-ing it.

I font. Need cards to win, just keep my opponents from winning. Hence no Lilly's caress. Quandry is far too costly and situational. For the same mana I can use Mind Slash andThoughtseize twice.

JuicyPVP awesome man! It's a blast to play, unlike a large amount of edh lists you aren't playing a durdly midrange game. Hope you enjoy it!

Have you thought about running more cards that pair with Nath's discard effect? Waste Not, Liliana's Caress, The Rack, Shrieking Affliction and other cards with similar effects can work pretty well in a deck like this if you want to take it that direction.

I run a Kaalia deck that aims to freeze the board state as much as possible once I get Kaalia of the Vast out. The thought is that I can use her to sneak out creatures then win while everyone else is struggling to do anything at all after I've blown up their lands, increased their casting costs, and limited what spells they can cast.

You might be able to do something similar with this deck if you get some of those discard triggered spells out early, get Nath out, then lockdown the board state.

Maybe that's not a direction you want to go with this deck, but I think it might work well. +1

I don't run those effects because they don't help with deck's main goal. This isn't a discard based deck, rather a resource denial deck that benefits (greatly) from discard. I don't want to use up slots I could dedicate to lockout pieces, since the damage those effects produce is marginal.

Just a question, in my nath deck i keep running into issues where i out discard their card draw, and then i'm left with a smokestack and no fuel with elf tokens. How do you deal with this? or is it just bitterblossom/awakening zone. Sundial of the Infinite works well, but do you just try to win before you totally lock them down

Tutoring for more fodder, like master of the wild hunt/trading post or bitter blossom. It happens sometimes but you can always sac your own lands, it's not the end of the world.

How come the deck doesn't run strip mine? Instead of whist quarter or tec edge. Isn't it strictly better?

I swapped it around for French rules, I have an issue with the edh rc's rule set.

Maybe, but I need to tutor before Nath is in play or I need to use my tokens for maintaining stax effects. Its a pssible add though. Best deck I'll take a better look in a little.

Question; is the Decklist optimal? Or are there some changes that you would make but don't due to budget constraints?

June 12, 2015 4:15 p.m.

EndStepTop says... #19

No, it runs on the French on the banlist. Strip mine Necropotence, mana crypt/vault, sol ring, vampiric tutor and imperial seal should all be in the deck.

What would you switch out for those? Also thank you for the prompt response!

I think This is US Legal: It is an older version of this deck I copied so I could take out the foil versions and compare what I already had to estimate costs:

Ghost quarter, dark tutelage/muse,wild growths mana form and dark ritual, diabolic tutor and shred memory. Would be my first thoughts, if you feel you need more non land producers the dorks or wild growth could go back I
