More Wincons (kinda) and cutting some garbage —Sept. 28, 2021

Cuts:

Twincast- Even in the best-case scenarios, this card never really did much. The best usage I ever got was copying my own Mystic Confluence during a counterspell war, but even then, this card had been sitting in my hand doing nothing for about 4 or 5 turns. It's one of the most depressing things to see in an opening hand, as it'll just sit there until turn 7 or 8 before getting even a modicum of value

Ghirapur Orrery- This little fella not only helps my opponents dump their hand, but it also refills their hand. Meloku worries a bit too much about having cards in hand to properly abuse this, and at this point in the deck, I have a very nice critical mass of ramp effects, making this one not only the worst of the bunch, but also the most redundant.

Snow-Covered Island- I'm only cutting one, but this is still by FAR the riskiest cut I've ever made to the deck. With this gone, I'm down to only 14 basic lands left. That's 14 out of 46. The amount of land-fetching this deck does, especially the amount of basic-fetching effects, this could very easily come back to bite me in the ass, but for now I'll have to test it.

Additions:

Academy Ruins- Once your opponents realize what combos/lines of play you tend to win with, they'll usually hold up interaction so as to stop you in your tracks. It just so happens that every single win condition in the deck relies on an artifact of some sort, making this an auto-include that I should have put in months ago. While having a Buried Ruin is nice, having a more repeatable way to recur threats and value pieces is very nice, once again giving the deck more resilience.

Thespian's Stage- Another card that I should have put in months ago, as it allows me to double up on favorable or valuable land effects. What's that? Need another Field of the Dead to double zombie tokens? How about a second Inventors' Fair to find yet another artifact combo piece? Or maybe you just need another War Roomfoil for that sweet card draw. Anything goes with Thespian's Stage, and that's exactly what its here for.

Dark Depths- Not only does this combo with Thespian's Stage to make an indestructible flying 20/20, but its also a wincon that relies only on lands, which is new for this deck, as it usually relies on artifacts (which are famously easy to remove). While a 20/20 admittedly doesn't one-shot players in commander, it definitely puts on some pressure and can clear the way for a second wincon if need be. Without Thespian's Stage though, this card won't do too much other than add names to my land count for Field of the Dead
