Hah, all you people and your REAL cards. Most of my playgroups allow proxies for cards with editions that exceed $300 :P

My playgroup encourages full proxies with no limits. Every deck is as broken as we want them to be and people can ply whatever they want. People still drop tons on cards, but it's not ridiculous.

i mean most (at least mine) playgroups allow proxies for cards you intend to get or cards that are in the mail/other decks/home. I wonder if i should dip into standard for a bit for standard showdown packs (3/33 chance/pack of pulling expo/masterpiece, gimme) back into edh ill prob trade them to my playgroup, puca or this site to get me to timetwister. WANT. WAAAAANNNNNNTTTT

If the tier 2 list gets culled, I hope the deck lists can be preserved, as they are an excellent resource. Maybe even have decklists for tier 3, as it is nice to know how to 'best' build a commander.

I second beduno's call to save all current tier 2 decklists - the simplest solution seeming to be the creation of a tier 3 decklists sections.

It seems The Gitrog Monster may be a tier one deck. Based off my somewhat limited testing, I think he may be a top-10 deck, possibly a top-5 deck (i.e. Zur, Jeleva, Prossh, Yisan level). It appears razzliox agrees: http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/commander-edh/multiplayer-commander-decklists/758879-turbofroggy-the-gitrog-monster
"As for your last sentence, I sincerely believe that the turbofroggy build can easily race top decks like Zur, Jeleva, Prossh, and has very favored matchups against grindier decks like Karador. This deck is GB but don't let that fool you; half the time, you win off Laboratory Maniac that you Praetor's Grasp for. With an Ad Nauseam + Ritual package, it definitely doesn't have that traditional Golgari feel." - razzliox

Gitrog is a beast, but I fear his resiliency against interaction is a bit too suspect for tier 1. Racing jevela is one thing. More than one tier 2 deck can do that, but being able to win through multiple sources of hate is quite another.

I'm about to dip my toe into tazri as well. let me know how it goes.

I half proxied up the full throttle food chain tazri list last week, and let me tell you, the thing is freakin complicated.
Love her card art though. Reminds me of dark souls whenever I look at it for whatever reason. Cleric builds fucking suck but i love em anyway.

Paradox Engine is breakable (e.g. with Isochron Scepter), albeit at 5 mana I don't really know if I care enough to break it.
Planar Bridge is virtually unplayable in cEDH, pretty obvious. It doesn't even win the game immediately like a kicked Tooth and Nail or Enter the Infinite do. That's basically what it's competing with.

People are talking about Engine being in Tasi/Thrasios. Speaking of which when is Thras getting the tier 1 treatment?

A quick deck building question for 4 or 5 color decks, signets or talismans? For example Talisman of Impulse vs Gruul Signet. I know there aren't talismans for every color combination but aside from that how do you think they compare ramp-wise and color fixing-wise? To give some context I'm tinkering with Tana, the Bloodsower Silas Renn, Seeker Adept stax right now.

Paradox Engine is absurd, and will be tested/permanently slotted into a large number of decks. Obviously a snap include in Azami. It'll probably end up a staple in storm lists like Jeleva and Shimmer Myr Zur as well.
Planar Bridge is unplayable competitively. Even if you cheat it into play, it's too much mana.

Idk i might see it in muzzio but i agree it doesnt have a place in t1. T2 very low. I legit cant think of a downside to value engine yet
