Meta Adjustment / Fine Tuning —Aug. 10, 2020

Hello Everyone! Its been a little while, but I was able to play Korvold following some Meta changes I have been able to make. The Deck relied a little too heavily on the fact that Many in my playgroup play lots of artifacts, and while thats epic its just a BIT too reliant on it.

Also, I noticed that A lot of my Creatures had abilities that only work on NON-TOKEN creatures, so I have decided to have a few classic reanimation targets into the deck so I can get some sweet recursion loops going on with Sacrifice Triggers. These Changes are also a little synergistic, so its been good to see the deck working a little more smoothly. Without Further ado...

Crop Rotation ------------------------> Reassembling Skeleton:

It's not necessarily a ramp card per se, and unfortunately it actually does have some bad interations with a few of the ideal land targets I would go get for it. That being said, on top of the other Treasure and Ramp resources, I felt that rather then ramp the deck needed a good Recurring Creature that would be reliably cheap to bring out. Thus, this swap.

Chittering Witch -----------------> Nether Traitor:

What a Recursion piece! I am likely keeping the Witch Handy due to how she can scale in commander, but honestly, Nether Traitor is super handy and fun in this deck and is very Reliable.

Curious Herd ---------------------> Squee, the Immortal:

This is related to the earlier changes, and uh.. Well, frankly, I just need a sacrificial peon I can grab ANYWHERE. Even if I get bojuka bog'd, or someone Davriel's my graveyard into Exile. Its been a reliable, if costly, tool.

Omnath, Locus of Rage ----------------------------> Gadrak, the Crown-Scourge:

Ah, A Sneaky Dragon brother who hoards the gold! This Smaug rip off is great at generating treasures, which for us is really epic. On top of which, it has also solid stats for a 3-drop, even if it will have a somewhat hard time being aggro. Sadly, I never had a chance to really play with Omnath, as I never had an opportunity to use it. More importantly though, It fits with both the Treasure and Dragon Sub-Themes of the deck...

Ogre Slumlord ------------------------------------------> Crux of Fate:

....Which is REALLY great for this Card swap. I always felt the deck needed one more board wipe, and BOY does this one put in work for us. Clears out the board, keeps dragons alive, and by letting us sacrifice our permanents we can potentially net some huge advantages. Its a solid swap, and its sticking.

The Gitrog Monster ----------------------------------> Liliana, Dreadhorde General:

I like the Gitrog Monster, but Sadly it can be a little detrimental if I dont have some of my 'Yard recursive pieces to help balance it out. And while that Extra Card draw is great, the Deck can be a little shy of Mana sometimes... Which is why, while a bit more expensive, LiliAna does literally everything this deck wants to do and more. She proved an epic card in my Karlov deck, and while She is coming here, she is gonna be kicking ass!
