From playtesting, I have noticed that the deck has the potential to be really fast, but tends to stall if it doesn't hit either Heartless Summoning or Blood Funnel soon enough. With this tweak, I wanted to add some more top end creatures and spells for some more interesting late game interaction. Necrotic Plague is pretty nice on most board states since our creatures are usually much less valuable than theirs, and having them kill a Perilous Myr, or Filigree Familiar is actively good for the deck. Ob Nixilis, Unshackled shuts down tutors and fetches, gets huge off of all of our sacrificing, and feels pretty great to cast on turn 4. Harvester of Souls is essentially just another more expensive copy of Grim Haruspex for more card draw, but a 4/4 deathtouch for 4 is a nice addition to board for defense. Vicious Shadows is very expensive, but has a lot of potential to completely destroy certain opponents. It may not stay in the main deck as I playtest more, but I think it will always have a place in the sideboard.

Grapeshot has proven to be an excellent addition, offering a good win condition with infinite storm, and a cheap board sweeper or heavy burn on a turn casting a lot of free Myrs and other cheap spells. I think 2 is the correct number for the deck, but I may go back to 3, probably bringing it in for Vicious Shadows to lower the mana curve a bit. In the next iteration I think I will also probably be cutting at least a few Urza's Rage in favor of some more utility creatures and maybe put back a Brimstone Volley. The downside of having to sacrifice a creature for Blood Funnel isn't much of a downside when we want to kill most of our utility creatures anyway to dig for our combos, activate morbid and spectacle, and throw Perilous Myr burn at our opponent. I've found myself frequently choosing to sacrifice a creature to Blood Funnel even when I don't have to in order to get the extra value out of the utility creatures.
