Well the way I beat marvel is by never allowing it to hit the battlefield Ceremonious rejection makes sure a marvel does not hit. It also counters Late game hard cast Ulamogs and World breakers. I know it is very narrow but it is in the side specifically to beat marvel. I don't consider cast out an answer to marvel, I don't want marvel to hit the battlefield.

I'm definitely considering the sphinx, maybe even a kefnet as well, as for Stasis snare, I would love to use it, but I wanted to have a more reliable removal spell that can flashback with gearhulk so it kind of made it less of an option. I also considered Murder so if immolating glare doesn't work out, I will probably switch to that.

I like that you are bold enough to give Esper a build. I think esper is well positioned as is a solid control build. I have played marvel enough to know that you HAVE to keep marvel off the board because one spin makes the odds of coming back to beat marvel very slim. Here is my take on the build. Very similar. I also tried Liliana, Death's Majesty and i love her with Torrential Gearhulk.

Ceremonious Rejection makes sure a marvel does not hit, but that's all it can do. Negate is simply a much much better and more well-rounded answer, yet its entirely absent from your 75. And I haven't seen any marvel lists playing World Breaker, so I don't think that's even a consideration.

Fatal Push is a really good black removal atm that i would recommend running. You can proc the revolt using your 4 Evolving Wilds or kefnet.

I have been testing out fatal push, it's just not useful enough late game, but this deck really controls the board you really don't need it when you just board wipe whenever you need too

RyuujiTakasu says... #8

Mm ok then, i understand that, but it really is more of an early-mid game card. Also, can someone explain to me why Fatal Push is $9 for an uncommon?!

For the same reason Path to Exile is a 9 dollar uncommon: because it's a one mana removal spell that handles just about everything the modern format plays in terms of creatures. For one black mana.

The revolt trigger on evolving wild just wasn't good enough for fatal push to make the deck, don't get me wrong I went esper just to use fatal push, but it just wasn't effective enough, with only 4 potential revolt triggers

This deck has way too many wraths and walkers, not enough direct removal. I'd go up 4 Fatal Push for sure, you need cheap ways to interact with your opponents early plays, and go down to 3-4 total wraths. I'd also consider changing up your walkers, Ob Nixilis Reignited is a very good lategame play that doubles as removal. I'd also add Ruinous Path or Never//Return or mainboard Anguished Unmaking as additional unconditional removal that hits walkers and creatures.

What did you play against?

Match 1 was UR control, he beat me game one pretty easily but after board I took out all yahenni's expertise and one of each oath to board in all my negates and disallows and both Gideon's interventions. When the intervention came down I would name cast out so he can't take my walkers anymore. Gideon and grasp took care of his man lands and his boarded in sphinx of the final words died to fumigate every time. He wasn't able to resolve anymore gearhulks, we did fight it out with counterspells when I tried to emblum Liliana, and he was able to stop it but I was still able to win by swinging in with Gideon.

Match 2 was mono black zombies, now here is the best part, I was late to round 2 by a minute or two so I autolost game 1, but I creamed him so hard, he was so locked down both games he couldn't hardly do anything, won with Liliana emblum both games, I beat zombies with more zombies

Game 3 was marvel, he got me game 1 but I had him at 3, but after board he wasn't able to resolve marvel and I Gideon interventiond ulamog the last 2 games and was able to pull out a win, but I admit it was very very close

Game 4 was some sort of home brew, he was RB playing Olivia, but it wasn't vampires, it was a pretty good aggro deck though he was pretty tough to keep the board clear against, it was very fast and I was nearly dead every game by the time I was able to wrath, he did actually get my health to -3 on game 3 but I was miraculously able to keep Gideon alive with his emblum out long enough to gain the life back with shambling vent

Game 5 was a UW deck playing elder deep fiend, it was a strange build but it was rather good, he has cloudblazers, spell qualler, torrential gearhulks, basically if it had flash he was playing it, I think cloudblazer was the only thing in the deck that he didn't flash in on my endstep. He demolished my walkers every game, but he seemed made it a big priority to kill my walkers he would swing with everything to overkill them every time. I got crushed game one, I was able to win with kefnet game 2, and I won game 3 with shambling vent, and the delirium 4/4 angel I got from descend upon the sinful, but it was a counterspell war most of the time, extreamly close games, I think he could of won if he wasn't so perinoid about my walkers.

Okay guy's so, sense Aetherworks Marvel has been banned, I think I'm going to play the Panharmonicon deck on my profile at the RPTQ. What do you all think? Am I making a mistake?Pan easily beats vehicles, and beats control post board, I'm not sure about Temur energy or BG delirium, I'll get some testing in soon before I make my final decision.

Keep playing this. It is extremely good against aggro so if most of the format is still fast then keep it.

Not a fan of Censor? I feel like it's crazy good, and probably better for the mainboard than Essence Scatter.

June 21, 2017 6:21 p.m.

Zingano says... #18

I have tested Censor vigorously, Essence Scatter is just more reliable unfortunately. I do still like Censor, but when I swapped them out the deck just got better in testing

Why is Liliana, the Last Hope as a 4 of in the main, and 1 in the sideboard?

June 21, 2017 7:25 p.m.

Zingano says... #22

Me2021 that is the maybeboard, I just never took her out

June 21, 2017 7:30 p.m.

Zingano says... #23

It's not actually part of the deck

Wow. This is no joke. Do you have a problem with going over allotted times for tournaments? I play tested this a lot against a ton of decks and some games go until turn 20-28 but almost always won. I've never seen so many emblems! Sweet deck.

Zingano says... #25

Yeah it can go to time sometimes but I finish my games most of the time unless it's a control match up
