So this deck is all about re-animation. So we have a few kinds of cards in here.
The first kind is the cards that get stuff into our graveyard. Now these include
Winding Way
,
Ransack the Lab
(winding and ransack serve a double purpose as card selection too), and most importantly,
Putrid Imp
.
Then , we have The creatures that we want to get into the grave.
Greater Sandwurm
can be cycled AND reanimated, so it is not only a reanimation target but also a cantrip.
Ulamog's Crusher
is just great because if we can turn-two
Exhume
it, on turn three we can attack with it and since it is so early in the game they will probably have to sacrifice lands!
Then we have our reanimation. we have
Exhume
which is what brings our deck together. You may argue that both players have to reanimate something and that is a downside, But we will always have something better in the graveyard than they do
Of course, we also have some card advantage
Winding Way
and
Ransack the Lab
, which also go through our deck and puts the stuff that we want in our graveyard, and also can also get us key cards. And then there’s
First-Sphere Gargantua
, which is just also a card draw, and a 6/5.
And of course
Dark Ritual
, to get the turn one combos, and
Basking Rootwalla
because we discard a lot of stuff. We play
Doom Blade
just as a neat piece of removal
